Boycott the T2 striptease

i think that the boycotting thing is stupid... all theyre doing is collecting marketing information on each hit. I'm just kind of miffed that they're putting out all this disappointing MACKIE HARDWARE stuff... Vertical integration, an obvious marketing move.

that about sums it up... if I ran around the city snatching toys from infants, I don't think I'd hear this much crying.Sage wrote:Wow, you guys could bitch about anything, couldn't you?

Get a grip people. You've paid $80 bucks for an sequencer that you will get a break on should you wish to upgrade. If you didn't think mackie hardware integration was coming, then they should revoke your drivers license (meaning, blind as a bat). If I recall correctly, at one of those conferences a while ago, it sounded like they had some hacked up version of tracktion working with some mackie hardware anyway. You knew this was coming in some form.
If you want to hold on to the glory days of yesteryear when Jules responded to every comment. Get over it! Times change.. and ultimately Jules is doing what he wants to do! There is an incentive obviously... and if you think this was just "the peoples sequencer"... I think you might be wrong. It's not like Jules hasn't had any experiences in more "professional" environments. Look at Sound Basket. Sure, T might have started homegrown, but I think jules recognized it's potential. Hell, go look at all that JUCE code, and tell me he just did all of that with no intention of making this into something bigger! c'mon! This isn't just a bunch of hacked together bits... it's a very solid framework from which a shitload of things can be done... that being said, it seems many fail to have the patience to see anything thru.. you want all the glorious features of programs which have been in existance much longer to get stuffed into T2 in some magicly intuitive way.. and all of that to be done by one person. That IMHO is being totally unrealistic. Here is a reality check? Tons of people want different features, and odds are we won't get them all.. but we'll get enough to make our usage of T better as a whole.
Also, all I hear in these threads are folks that WORRY about T2 competing with other products. Well shit, everything has a drawbacks! If you look hard enough, you will find something you don't like in ANY of the sequencers in existance. Guess what? You live with it, work around it, and make f'n MUSIC! Be happy that you didn't shell out $500 to discover this!
One other thing, if any of you have blown T2 into being the next greatest sequencer to land on your desktop without actually *knowing* anything... it's your own fault.. because YOU have let your fantasies and general groundhogin' get the best of you. Loads of folks around here have been playing armchair quaterback non stop.. casting feature predictions which eventually become intepreted as truths, then become expectations.

Back to the topic of the thread...
If you don't want to know what features are in T2 until it's released.. it's a pretty simple task. Don't read the mickie feature page until you see here on KVR in bright lights that "T2 has been released!"

Light, I mean Right, that's enough I'm off to bed.

That's what I intend to do! I only hope my resolve about boycotting mackies striptease will last until the bright lights light up (I hope it happens lightning fast) And please don't tell me to lighten up! The tension is enough to make me start smoking again - anyone got a light?f you don't want to know what features are in T2 until it's released.. it's a pretty simple task. Where does the feature list seem "lite"? Who is to judge whether or not those features are big improvements? Simple, different strokes for different folks. SOMEBODY(probably many somebodies) consider these features to be major. I'm excited about several of them myself.
Also, why do people keep on saying the feature list seems this way? Why are they saying it's a dissappointment? FOR GOODNESS' SAKE, IT'S NOT FINISHED YET!!!!! How blind are people?!?! Please wait till ALL features have been released before you start griping about what is a lite feature list. There's much more to come. And if that feature you are holding out for doesn't make it, then you are free to not purchase an upgrade. But you can't even say anything about it until you've seen it all, and nobody here has, except for the men in charge.
Get over it folks. Have an opinion, but don't be idiotic about it.

Oh, and simondsouza, I don't mean these things towards you directly, but mainly towards the general moaning going on. I just used the "lite" reference from your post. But hey, be patient man. It'll all come in due time. We can't speed it up.

Can you imagine what Jules and Beno and the others at Mackie must think if they actually read this whining about T2 on here? There aren't enough roll eyes emoticons in the world...

They actually DO read it and occasionally respond. It must be a little depressing for them, but I'm sure they realise its just a tiny minority of people moaning, who probably have too much time on their hands and can't think of anything better to do with themselves.Shazbot wrote:Can you imagine what Jules and Beno and the others at Mackie must think if they actually read this whining about T2 on here? Simon... you'll have to boycot the forum too, because these whingers will carry on debating the striptease ad nauseum for the next month or so. Go and hide away somewhere, and we'll look forward to your return in a few weeks. And don't forget to keep taking the tablets

I am putting out a request that we boycott Mackies blatant attempt to sow discord and division amongst it's loyal (and not so loyal) followers.
That's really funny to see how many people are feeling "special" because they were the first to use a product. "Hey, I've been using Tracktion since the first day it cames out ! So I need VERY special attention ! Takes really care to me because I may ... I may ... I may stop to use Tracktion ! Be carefuuul ..."
(in this case this is even more funny
Of course I know that it is not very cool from Mackie to not reply to customer requests ... But really read this forum ... I hope Mackie will open a new one for customer support because this one is so polluted with insane threads that it is no more usable for any normal T user (as I finally may become since T1 is free
