OK,
Maybe T2 is not doomed. My old VFX SD keyboard (which still has a rockin sequencer) will now come to life as a MIDI controller - I like, I like!!!
Still waiting for real loop composition/stretching in time and pitch.

YAY! thank you thank you thank you, especially for the new meters
jw, will the midi control mapping let you map one cc to another? (like letting you use the sustain pedal as a pitch bend or similar)

...but are we only getting one tease this week?
Can we have another one please?
Ben
I had a problem a while back, because audio I recorded in Tracktion 1.6 - which seemed fine in Tracktion - seemed occasionally to be clipping in Audition.
I think the new metering looks fantastic, and let no-one doubt that this is a very welcome and needed new feature.
Excellent stuff - thanks again Beno

Nobody in this dump is ever happy, I swear! The new metering will be nice, in a crowded mix sometimes I have a hard time figuring out whose pushing things into clipping.. this will be nice for eyeballing the mix.Beno wrote:bugger
Now, how about 22,498.75 new features for tomorrow?

that would have been quite a statement; effectively abdoning open standards and making T just another bit of mackie proprietary software.braj wrote:I personally would have boycotted T2 on principle if they locked out all control surfaces besides Mackie's.
thought it was cheekly of them to talk of supporting ("even"!) 'low cost' controllers until you're ready (read: can afford) a Mackie controller.

I'm sold. Where do I sign up ????MIDI Controller Mapping
Now maybe people will stop whinging...!!! Better metering, MIDI controller mapping, an improved note editor..? Do you think finally we'll begin to see some balanced commentary around here?
Looks like a fine fine upgrade to me people. Looking forward to shelling out the peas for this one!

Now all I need is a real send/bussing system so I can do a separate headphone mix without latency and/or workarounds...
Then I can actually use Tracktion for more than just softsynths.
Okay, and sensible loop recording and
asio direct monitoring for real world tracking.
Right, and maybe a little better file management system (I've actually lost data by simply moving audio files: a great big no).
Okay, and bulletproof PDC.
The render bug gone?
Right.
One click editing? Key modifier range selection (to avoid having to keep splitting clips)?
A few little things like these and I would happily put clumsy Sonar into the closet with awkward Pro Tools. (Vegas relegated that real-time rendering, lame-ass crossfading, relic to that dark space.)
