that was completely the animator's vision for the music.
i forgot to mention that i wrote that in two nights.

i had no problem doing it that way but if i had complete creative control it could've been much different. i might go back and redo it one day when i feel inspired by some cosmic event. sonik synth 2 is great for this purpose. to go at something with totally new sounds.

oh yeah prog i forgot to mention that while i was chatting with eric from garaj mahal, robert randolph was right next to us and it was funny cause you just stay focussed on the task at hand and ignore robert. dilemnas!

wow i totally relate to that story. in terms of specific music study(performance and songwriting) i have really avoided that stuff. but with sonik 2 you can teach yourself about mixing/engineering, film score orchestration, synthesis - anything you want.

it's awesome.

those exercises they making you do, i kind of miss that stuff. it's good for you. i suck at keys i think. you should see squids playing.

After all that, i still suck too.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Squids awesome musicianship and unique technique. he definately deserves to be playing with the big name boys in Sonik Elements.

I just want to know-
A) when they are going on tour and
B) where i can get my official "Squids for President" Tee-shirt.

Oh, if I was president I'd work so hard to improve the progress of peace, knowledge, medicine, exploration, the environment, art & creativity. Why humans waste time in war still is totally amazing. There are so many things that we do that make very little sense and should stop. It would help if our leaders helped guide us toward a more promising direction to promote a faster evolution of the soul and a deeper understanding of who we are, what we are, why we're here and what else there is in this universe. You just take one look up at the stars and then think "What are we doing killing each other?". I don't think people could handle me being president, especially people who'd lose a lot of money by my idealistic point of view (of course I only want a safer environment for all of our children and progress for mankind... sure, not as important as corporate dollars but hey! ).

As for a tour... no time to tour at the moment but there will be a world tour for Sonik Synth 2 and we'll have some SE performances in there somehow I am sure. I will keep you all posed but the best place to find THAT info out is on www.sonikelementz.com

It might have a few tips and tricks for you - they have a separate forum for tips and tricks and the like.

Also, they sometimes post links to useful resources for that sort of thing.

The site is much more into using samplers and various sample libraries, so it's probably easier than trying to find similar information here.

There's a couple of other sites I guess, but I quite like this particular one because it's fairly new and still friendly.

there's a Keyboard MAg issue from a few years ago with James Horner. i remember the key advice he gives is use an expression pedal to create swells in volume. maybe search for that issue in a big library
