I didn't mean you in particular, Greg - it's only that the major here will always defend T whatever comes...

I find ron's responses (less the 'gay' posts) to be hilarious if you imagine napolean dynamite saying them. (pretty sure that's what he was going for)
Of course, impersonating Napolean was only funny for about 2 days after seeing the movie, so I'll assume Ron's just behind the times. As usual

Really?jens wrote:I didn't mean you in particular, Greg - it's only that the major here will always defend T whatever comes...
I find the majority seem to find negative things to say (regarding the upgrade, not Tracktion in general), no matter what. I guess we're coming at it from opposite perspectives.
Besides, I find loyalty to be a good trait. People who are willing to put a bit of faith and trust in a company like Raw Materials strikes me as wonderful, not deplorable.

Lemme see.. I've recorded about 15 songs with Tracktion, no timestretch. They can take it out for all I care!
If it's a make or break for someone, they can go cough up big bucks for something else. I couldn't give a wet red rats ass if it's there, bad, good, or indifferent.
*edit* I'm starting to sound like BONES - I think I need a beer!

i think i'm defending T a bit, but i'm also defending ron here, because he was pounced on unduly
of course, i don't care much about the timestretch issue... though i would love the ease it would bring, everyone wants realtime timestretch and using that across a whole track would be a cpu killer. i'm sure if it's gonna be there it's gonna be good, and it's gonna come up sooner or later. i guess we'll just have to wait and see (and buy or not as and when we need it)
i'm getting it anyway!

who freaking cares dude? sheez! just wait theyll put it in some upgrade. DANG!
Bollocks. Ron deserves to be thoroughly pounced on for that ignorant response. The lack of timestretch is something that lots of people care about.. hence the crying symbol.haydxn wrote:i think i'm defending T a bit, but i'm also defending ron here, because he was pounced on unduly
If it doesn't upset you, thats great! but don't assume that no improved timestretch is no big deal for everyone else.

exactly - that first post by Ron in this thread annoyed the shit out of me...

See, the thing is, this whole thread could have been about informing those that care that there's no timestretch, and exploring the options available in it's absence. ron, as usual, brought the thread into a flame-fest. I didn't intend to complain that Jules or Mackie let me down, just that there's no timestretch and how that effects us users.jens wrote:exactly - that first post by Ron in this thread annoyed the shit out of me...
There some serious maturity issues here when we can't even discuss something without it having to be an 'us vs. them' bullshit fest. Damn.

f**k you guys, so what. everybody's complaining about lack of timestretch and "i'm NOT going to upgrade" is annoying the shit out of me too, especially seeing as everyone's just repeating themselves. we know.
he's entitled to his opinion as much as anyone. i find it in line with jens complaining about "who wanted 64 bit mixing anyway?" - some people will feel glad about that being there. and i for one am very excited about having video support, yet some people bash that against other features.
he WAS pounced on unduly. his comment is hardly more offensive or aggressive than most other posts on this board. and he's not said anything that hasn't already been said (which goes for the whole point of this thread being started up as a NEW one - even tho there's a very active thread with all the relevant information and an appropriate heading already).

But it was offensive and aggresive.. mainly dismissive.his comment is hardly more offensive or aggressive than most other posts on this board
You're talking about the atmosphere of the board in general.. and not about what's a fair reaction to ron's inflammatory response (which doesn't change no matter what board it might have been posted on).

Bullshit. So, a thread of begging 8 pages long doesn't exactly indicate that the timestretching issue had a clear answer, so what that I posted a new thread? I wanted to get beyond that thread. And ron of all people, who admits to coming here to troll, constantly posting inane threads, makes an inane post, and you say he was unduly pounced on? Where have you been for months?haydxn wrote:fhe WAS pounced on unduly. his comment is hardly more offensive or aggressive than most other posts on this board. and he's not said anything that hasn't already been said (which goes for the whole point of this thread being started up as a NEW one - even tho there's a very active thread with all the relevant information and an appropriate heading already).
Anyway, I'll give it a rest. This thread has been officially sacrificed to the troll king.

of course you have made your answer and now it is closed.
ron WAS pounced on unduly. he has a reputation which you've just brought up, and his silly replies SINCE you bashed him for his initial one are only a direct result of your inability to take his remark. there is ultimately nothing wrong with what he said- sure it was enthusiastic but at the end of the day he's saying nothing you haven't already heard and YOU'd not said anything new either. this thread exists and became a flamefest BECAUSE of you. ron is entitled to an opinion as much as you are, and you don't have to needlessly bash him just because he said something harmless in a tone you didn't like.
you've still been able to explore new possibilities but you decided to bash ron and provoke him (knowing that he's likely to flare up seeing as you view him entirely as a troll).

haydxn: perhaps you missed it, but ron has explained several times that he is a troll. He just doesnt like to use that word.
why should anyone have to 'take' ron's ignorant comments? if that's your argument then he should have to 'take' the responses he gets also (you dont have to defend him, he can 'take' them). imo as usual, the bashing was entirely justified. but ignoring him would be better for the board.
if, as you claim he was, ron was just 'expressing an opinion' his post would have looked something like this "I can happily wait for timestretch".

Here's whats wrong with what ron said: it respectlessly dismisses the opinions of the poster, and of a group of tracktion users, in this case quite a large group.there is ultimately nothing wrong with what he said
