People often take on completely different personalities when they log on to forums. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ron is perfectly competent at his studio work in real life, and he may even be a fun guy to talk to.
Anyway, I'm sure they'll let us know when they have everything finalized. These things take time, and having waited so long for T2, I can stand a couple more weeks. Hell, it's nothing compared to the wait for Reason 3.

Maybe so, but many of the people I've gotten to know online, especially on the Nuendo and TapeOp forums, have lives that carry into both domains and reputations that cover them both. They often get work from the boards, especially for mastering. If they acted that rediculous online, their businesses would be directly affected by it.Warmonger wrote:People often take on completely different personalities when they log on to forums. Of course, they have real studios with serious gear and are seriously good engineers, so that may be the difference.

I've pointed this out to him on a number of occasions. He must not take it very seriously, or he would act different. That's why I always call him a child. Most children don't have priorities and don't care how one thing they do affects the other things. It's sad really.MT wrote:What's absolutely amazing is that RONC's profile has a link to his website that advertises his recording business... can you imagine what a nightmare experience recording with him would be?
How could you possibly expect to get business from people when you're constantly making such an ass out of yourself?
Hilarious.

I'm afraid warmonger is correct. I'm actually a very patient, listening person on the "other side". I'm so surprised how none of you can understand my posting humor and biting playful sarcasm.
Oh well

Ron,
What YOU fail to understand (time and time again) is something I will once again repeat, but in very clear terms:
1. You do not have a strong enough writing style to convey your meaning. In other words, while you may mean something as a joke, you are a crappy writer and the joke is not communicated.
That doesn't mean that you can't try to joke, or that everyone in the world has to be a good writer, but what it DOES mean is that it's YOUR fault your jokes are not understood, not the audience's fault for not understanding.
2. You need to equate your real personality fairly closely to your KvR personality; otherwise, you are a troll. If that's your game, fine, but don't expect people to understand it or appreciate it. If it's NOT your game, then it's time to modify your online behaviour to match your real-life persona.
Or in different words, at the end of the day, if you insist on "unwinding" by adopting a fictional persona, you need to accept that you're going to get talked down to a lot for it.
3. If you want to let off steam with what you falsely believe is "playful sarcasm", you are entitled to. I just wouldn't associate your studio with your KvR persona.
Or in other words, since people think you act like a dick, and you don't realize that you DO act like a dick, you'll be a lot better off taking references to your studio out of your profile.
I guess that's the long way of saying-- you shouldn't be surprised that people don't understand you. Instead, you should WONDER why they don't, realize that your communication style isn't strong, and begin to work towards a stronger style (and better character, frankly) instead of blaming other people for the fact that they're not getting "playful" and "friendly" from your posts.

Wonder no more, Rob... I'll give you the straight goods:
You are a pratt. Nobody likes you, or at least *I* certainly don't. We would rather see you littering the Cubase forums with your inane prattle, unhelpful nature, poor grammar, and sad attempts at sarcasm. Now go away and let me be 'the Teach' for a while.
(dammit, when do *I* get a custom title...?)
