what about if you use a plugin like tapeit to render? will this be affected by your soundcard audioquality?

And, as I said that's just my experience, and if yours is different I respect that.
How can you maintain to discuss such nonsense?
This hasn't got to do anything with 'personal experience' - it's about the hard facts of the physcial world - your daw and your soundcard are both part of it.
If you love discussing metaphysics I'm not sure this is the right forum for it.

Because the buss is the bit that adds the signals together. It is called the 'stereo card out buss' because it would normally be routed to your stereo card outs.. but it is part of Cubase, not the soundcard.davor wrote:NOt in my case. Tell me then, why is it that when I remove the stereo card out buss in Cubase, Cubase won't do the export.

Well, it's a bit of a shock you know -- the sudden insight that what you believe you hear can be affected by what you think you know to such an extent!

BTW, do you realise that if Beethoven lived today, he would sequence the entire 9th symphony and burn it on CD without even having a soundcard in his computer??

Oh my. A little too much faith in snake oil, and not enough faith in hard science, I feel.
