during a wet spot (
) of creativity I once stopped playing all video games and such, but after that surge i hit the worst dry spot ever. I then remembered that before i was doing just fine while still watching movies, playing games, etc, so i did so and that was the fix.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like my life has fallen apart or anything. Life is great...
I just feel completely uninspired, and it usually passes much sooner than this.

I think the advice about trying to do different styles is interesting, but would probably make me even more frustrated...I don't even know how to do my style let alone anything else

This thread inspired me to start a thread at Generation Rock about writers block...perhaps I could impose on some of you to post some tips there and help me get the ball rolling, that way in the future we can have a database if you will of tips...some of us older folk have been through it many times...

And if you have to be obsessed by the results: don't force things. If you try to make say, a death metal tune, and you end up with a disco track you like, what can be wrong about that?
