On my Android phone, it makes no difference. As slow/quick as before... maybe the browser in use matters too. It's still a PITA to use though, just as before...Compyfox wrote: COngratulations - KVR just got unusable for me on my mobile phone. Too many scripts! And it's slow in FF23 on my i7 / 16MBit DSL as well.

I dont mind the Blue , but the Avatar uploader should downsize your upload instead of saying to big , lets work on fixing that , its a hot mess . Other than that change is nice , works great on an ipad mini , if it doesnt work on your Android phone , you probably got a cheap crappy device like my Android phone I have. i.e. low spec processor gpu little ram etc etc . Garbage phone .

We're so entrenched in the old way, drastic changes cause problems.
You have a habitually addicted user base, background color is a huge deal

Yeah. It's not that the design and layout is bad now, it's just that it used to be better imo, and it seems like many others think so too...grymmjack wrote:It's a thankless job, so thank you for trying.Ben [KVR] wrote:I'll start work on the main gripes on monday...

These are all kind words and I agree with (most) of them. But the fact is, this new design has not been a hit and the only way to make it a hit is to listen to the criticism of all the "habitually addicted users"!

Puh-leez! I can imagine you guys telling the captain of the Titanic that the boat is only taking on a little water and besides we would enjoy taking a little swim.chk071 wrote:Yeah. When people are calling it "eye cancer" and dozens of people are installing extensions to override the colors and layout, it's a disaster as far as web design goes. That's all there is to it.

A forum that doesn't expand to fill widescreen monitors in an age where everyone is using widescreen monitors is not a good idea.
Why redo the whole thing and not make it nice for phones?
The color scheme is also bad, why are the sides brighter and drawing your eye away from the main area where everything you want to look at is, what's with the random splashes of bright blue, etc.
I'm not anti-change, it doesn't have to stay exactly like it was, but these changes are poorly thought out and executed. Contract a competent professional if yall don't already have someone who knows what they are doing, or just leave it alone.

That's fixable with Stylish, as are some of the other details... but yeah, agreed - why change if not fixing the big problems?contrast wrote:A forum that doesn't expand to fill widescreen monitors in an age where everyone is using widescreen monitors is not a good idea.

I don't really agree.. my browser on desktop is usually about half-screen wide, and even on laptop it's rarely full-screen. It's very hard to multi-task with full-screen windows, much easier when you can fit things side-by-side.contrast wrote:A forum that doesn't expand to fill widescreen monitors in an age where everyone is using widescreen monitors is not a good idea.
edit: oh and short-lines are much faster to read.. ideally you can read the whole line with a single "look" (I don't know what it's called in English) and just scan top to bottom.. if it's too wide, that won't work anymore, which will seriously hurt the reading speed for most people (though it's probably most obvious with people that read fast in the first place).
