Hi Denis,

I can confirm that, in my case, even if I try to create user presets from scratch, using the default preset as a seed, I am unable to create new FREEZE presets.

Post

Are you sure that your FREEZE buffer actually contains audio though when saving in that case? Keep in mid that having SUSTAIN at max and/or having REVERB SIZE at max when in RT model also yields infinite sustain, but which will not be stored (these are the classic "infinite reverb" type recycling modes).

edit: I ask because I'm creating new presets starting from the DEAFULT all the time, hence I'm scratching my head a little here...

Hi Denis,

I just tried again, because I couldn't remember if I had set SUSTAIN and REVERB SIZE to zero.

There were the steps:-

I selected the Factory "Default" preset.

I change the GUI to FINE-TUNE

In the X-Y Parameter Field, I dragged the little dot so that SUSTAIN was set to 0.00 and REVERB MIX was set to 1.0

I dragged the REVERB SIZE slider down to 0.0

I changed TRACKING to HOLD

I then started playing my chosen sample. This sample is around four seconds of audio which has zero attack and is just a single note.

Within less than a second I clicked on the FREEZE button

I waited for the sample to finish playing and I can now hear a sustained pad sound. It is a bit thin and waspy so I've probably not chosen a great sample, but, as I said, there is sound there, peaking at around 25~30% on the Adaptiverb level meter. I probably should have increased the AIR a bit...

At this point, while I can still hear audio coming from Adaptiverb, I saved the preset as TEST04.

If I then select the Default preset and then immediately go back to my TEST04 preset, I do not hear any sound. Even if I change some of the parameters now, all I get is silence.

I have taken a screenshot of Adaptiverb, after I have hit FREEZE but before I did a Save As...

Image

I have attached the TEST04.preset in a compressed folder because the forum software would not allow it to be attached as a preset file.

I hope all this helps. I hope it's just me doing something wrong...

cheers

interesting. That sounds like it could potentially be a bug, yes. To be sure I'll need to reproduce this here. What host, host version, OS, sampling rate were you guys running? Did you have multiple instances of ADAPTIVERB loaded? Is this with ADAPTIVERB 1.0.0 or v1.0.1? Are you maybe mixing presets between the two version (shouldn't matter but could give us a hint where to look for insects)?

Cheers,
Denis
I am using Sonar Platinum 64-bit 22.0 Build 29 - this is current
I use 48kHz sampling with buffers at 1024 samples.
Windows 10 Pro version 1607 Build 14393.105 - also current
A single instance of Adaptiverb version 1.0.1 Build d332140 VST3 64-bit
with DSP 1.0.0.7 and Kitty 2.0 which should be current.

In my Sonar project, Adaptiverb is the only thing loaded - no other audio or MIDI files or plugins.

I only installed the 64-bit version of Adaptiverb so I presume all the older stuff got overwritten so all the presets are current, I didn't make any presets for the earlier version of Adaptiverb.

I'll email the two presets as soon as I leave here.

I made two freeze presets and when I saved and re-loaded them neither played a sound.

Thank you guys for the feedback and apologies for this not working for you. We take great pride in our v1.0.0 releases being bug-free....and this appears to be a bug. Mea culpa. We've been able to reproduce some of this, which is good as that means we can and will fix this ASAP – though we'll have to roll out the update we've been working on first.

Cheers,
Denis

Another interesting thing about presets: If you rename a preset directly in the folder and then select it in the Adaptiverb browser, the old name will appear, as the name seems to be embedded in the preset file, so if you want to rename it correctly, you have to re-save it in the browser with a different name or hack the preset file in a text editor and do it there.

That's great news Denis.

I thought I was going a bit soft in the head haha!

No rush on the fix... I'll manage without FREEZE now that I'm settling on a particular technique and work flow.

Yes, that is correct. If you need to batch-rename large numbers of presets for your cool looking sound pack, I have a script for that here – would be happy to help out, so feel free to email me about that.

Thank's Dennis, I'm fine for now as I spotted this behavior very early and now come up with catchy names right from the start rather than naming them Spectral Space 1 - 23.000 during layout phase :)

I do name them "moreStuff_pack1_bowed15InchZildjanCymbalTorn_AKGcontactMicOnBell_deepDrone_0001" to (...)#9087... but then, I do a second pass anyway, to select the top ones & match levels (at least for the drones), and THEN I save with a cool name...;-)

The drone leveling indeed needs some special attention.

Is it possible to use Adaptiverb on 2 computers? I've only got 1 license in my iLok account. Have emailed you Denis, no rush, just curious as I want to start using this on the go :)

Post

Sounds Amazing! But way too much cpu for my computer as your website mentioned. Plus the latency is quite high. I will mess around with it for the trial period. I got to spend only 1 hour testing it today. I don't really care for ilok but I gotta do what I gotta do.

thanks
