UAD Manley Tube Preamp? But for low/lowmid warmth I'd say Pultec EQ.Funky40 wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:31 pm If it was just solely about tube warmth,....regardless if a UAD plugin would deliver further functionality like EQ, Comp, etc, just for the tube-sound aspect alone, ...warmth in the lowmids/lows, plus that typical alteration of transients in specific ways,
which single plugin, or which plugin chain would be "The one" ?
talking vs. hand played Instruments like Rhodes, E-Bass, VST-Synths, or the sound-outcome from creative FX. I create there often Bass weighty sounds.
UAD still worth it?

Correct you are.zvenx wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:40 pm Whilst I don't agree it is at all the worse (its the one I use the most actually)... I suspect his answer will be the IK Stuff Tape Machines (not the Teac ones), which I do agree is the best (I tried it after he recommended it to me), but it use to kill my old computer. Haven't tried them on my apple silicon native yet though.

I'd even take Satin over the A800 myself because it doesn't do the harsh top-end thing I hear in the A800 and Satin has nice sounding noise [that statement sounds a little crazy - good sounding noise!]. The ATR-102 is better than the UAD A800 machine IMO but still a little aggressive. For me, IK Tapes is currently best on the market. I also occasionally use Taupe from Acustica though that's usually just for tone. I have some others that are decent. One day I'll get my TEAC A-3440 running.

Yes, that one I think has a really nice tone and again - good sounding noise. The saturation looks like a waveshaper too, which is one beef with the A800 in terms of accuracy, but the ATR-102 sounds much better than the A800 (if using ears - not your eyes or Plugin Doctor). If it were native, I'd have picked that up.zvenx wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:55 pm Oh my bad.. the one I actually use is the Ampex not the Studer..

ok, the Pultec is/was kind of on the list ( the only one remaining)Etienne1973 wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:53 pm UAD Manley Tube Preamp? But for low/lowmid warmth I'd say Pultec EQ.
but i´m hesitant, since i am really used to work with those digital EQs.
But when you now say it delivers "there" too. Thats a point.
ofcourse are Manley, Tube-Tech etc. big clangorous names. All of it very tempting, haha.
I just have a hard time to see which ones are the ones for me, and where exactly they´d fit.
Where do you see the Manley ? (i think thats beside the pulteq waht i have the stringest focus towards, from surfing at UADs page)
ok, Pultec bought ( with the 2nd attempt of UADTUESDAY)
now hoping to get my discount codes, to snag the Manley @UAD for a nice "loyality" price

Don't forget to check your offers in your UA account. Bundles will have dynamic discounts.Funky40 wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 7:40 pmok, the Pultec is/was kind of on the list ( the only one remaining)Etienne1973 wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:53 pm UAD Manley Tube Preamp? The biggest difference with these emulations is the modeled saturation and modeled imperfections that created desirable techniques (Pultec trick). They can be considered musical EQs as opposed to a surgical approach and work great for additive EQ and tonal shaping.
Not limited to of course.

thanks, i meant with ......"where did you see"....the musical contextEtienne1973 wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 7:58 pm But I wouldn't get in a rush. IMO good chance these discount offers come around again.![]()
for what type of signals, in what musical context would you "see" the Manley be a "King" ( to phrase it so)
yeah, i´d guess too, that the discounts would come back.
My thought: they give now away the "($) lighter" stuff.
Maybe they´ll add later around black friday also the "heavier ($)" stuff.
So, for $39, tere is so and so much i can take just by chance. While these will generate Discount codes. Usefull for the "$ heavy" stuff. (just a thought)

Oh stink. My new Thank You code showed up in-cart but the UADTUESDAY did not. Guess that's possibly the end of the sale for me. Got a couple of goodies though.

Yes, they really should. Else for $39, which is still an awesome deal, people would just buy from resellers after buying twice from UA directly. Maybe that's what they want?!martinjuenke wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 7:40 amIt may be reset once more...MogwaiBoy wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 6:59 am Oh stink. I spent $130 on two of their synths, in March, some time later one of them was offered for free (insult to injury), and they don't even throw me a coupon. To hell with them.

I’d email them to request one.Dirtgrain wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 8:24 pm I spent $130 on two of their synths, in March, some time later one of them was offered for free (insult to injury), and they don't even throw me a coupon. To hell with them.
From reading that UA forum (someone said it’s an unofficial forum), their support seems supportive.
I only reached out to voice my opinion about supporting machine hosted iLok license instead of cloud/physical only… for safe laptop usage.
Support was quick to respond, so might be worth a shot.
