does anyone experience slow loading? i have a project with 4 ST3 instances, each of them having 1 or 2 instruments per MIDI channel. it took 5 minutes to load it all.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Lots of variables in that one Burillo.....what's going on in the background? Is Windows indexing at the time?
Something else trying to run at the same time? Could be the DAW doing something that slows things down. Etc., etc. Are the HDD's defragged and optimized?
Have you tried a shutdown/restart? Could be memory is piling up and not freed.
My load times seem adequate here....haven't timed any but definitely not taking five minutes; although I do notice Bitwig Studio takes a bit longer than Live 9.
This, to me, sounds like it is something other than ST3 causing the delay TBH.
Happy Musiking!

only Kontakt loading an Orange Tree Rick in the background, nothing else. normally the libraries are loaded very fast, so it's not a HDD issue - probably an issue with how ST3 handles multiple loads.dsan@mail.com wrote:Lots of variables in that one Burillo.....what's going on in the background? Kontakt on my system takes a while, no matter which DAW it's in, so maybe that's the problem.
Try removing the Kontakt instance, save the project, reopen and see if that helps ST3 load faster.
If nothing else this will give an idea as to what is not the problem if the load times remain the same.

In my current project,I have 4 instances of ST3 and 2 AIR instrument tracks and it took about 30 seconds to load.Burillo wrote:only Kontakt loading an Orange Tree Rick in the background, nothing else. normally the libraries are loaded very fast, so it's not a HDD issue - probably an issue with how ST3 handles multiple loads.dsan@mail.com wrote:Lots of variables in that one Burillo.....what's going on in the background? I do however, have CPU usage issues, from a refresh I did on my PC..so I experience buzzing and stuttering,so I have to be careful with how many ST3,AIR & Alchemy tracks I use.
I suppose though, that multiple instances of multi-timbral ST3 tracks,is a big load for any set up...but 5 minutes is very extreme.
That said,I think you and I are experiencing issues that are unrelated to ST3 and it's a matter of looking elsewhere for the problem.
My PC was fine,as my DAW performance was lightening fast before the refresh and now, even with all of the optimization settings I've configured,my issue still persists....so for me,it's a matter of determining what has changed before and after my refresh was performed.

Whether related to ST3 or not, our support team can take a look and assess that too. I know you have already consulted them, AlesisVi61 and I hope they helped you out on any items that were related to SampleTank 3.

Just wondering if there is a version list since release with associated fixes somewhere?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Whether related to ST3 or not, our support team

It would be easier for me to check than scanning these threads.

Release notes accompany updates in your IK User Area. If you don't see a particular issue fix mentioned there, you can reply to your ticket or contact support directly.BBFG# wrote:Just wondering if there is a version list since release with associated fixes somewhere?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Whether related to ST3 or not, our support team

(I don't currently have any ticket and am just waiting to try a newer version of ST3 Free to see if it will work for me yet). And not really anything worthy at contacting support ATM.

I figured. User Area was the instant gratification option anyway, usually the better choice - at least for the short term

Yes indeed...one of the guys from AIR was very helpful,as he pinpointed the problem. It was just a matter of updating my chipset driver.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Whether related to ST3 or not, our support team can take a look and assess that too. Whoa... that other thread turned epic!
Here's a suggestion I posted there that may have gone unnoticed (didn't read all of the last pages to find out... may not):
I think there should be an LE version that is the FREE plus import (no SE or Full content)... $25 from stank 2XL and $50 from other IK products.
Boom!
Problem solved.

That will rally some heavy criticism from those that paid the intro price just to get a 64 bit version to run their legacy libraries.
Really recommend NOT at this point in time or problems will be just beginning.

Yeah, we wouldn't want them to upset any customers.
Oh, wait...
Seriously, it's a good idea at reasonable prices to offset development.
Full and SE customers (new, up/cross-graders) get plenty of new and more sophisticated content to make up the difference.
