The CPU hit is still not real :(
So why is multi threading not possible???
Some of the new patches are great but most of them are a bit over the top peaking below good and evil ;)
I also wanted to buy the Analog Motion pack but i saw the high CPU use in the demo with an i7 quadcore.
It's a great instrument but it REALLY needs multi threading!
I mean i can run 40 instances of a complex sounding Zebra 2 arp patch in realtime but a Falcon multi is a nogo.
So if you say multi threading is not possible due to the architecture i can understand that!
I just want to know if it would be possible and make Falcon usable.

Still not real? Nothing has changed CPU-wise compared to former versions so what did you expect? Transforming Falcon into a multi-threading instrument will take time, that's nothing for an .1-update. It really depends on the computer you use, a laptop might not be the best platform for Falcon.

If Cinebient has got a i7 quadcore and Falcon eats that up...

What happens making a track using Falcon in, lets say, 5 channels, would one need a Cray computer to be able to render the song?

Post

Naa, I make tracks with Falcon every day and nothing gets eaten.

So what is a decent setup to run Falcon ?

Yes. For example, if you look in the Bells section, you will see presets with Thorus in the name.

Did you download the soundset update? It is a separate download.

Noooooo, million thanks !!, I thought it was a part of the 450mb on the update, cool, now I seen them, thanks again anxiousmofo !

 :hihi: :hyper:

Well, that's the problem! Multi threading should be a 1.0 feature these days with such a beast.
All that would be no problem.... if there was a demo.
Maybe one day i can use it like i want :tu:
There is hope!

LOL, looking at the history of this thread and your CPU rants about Falcon, this must have been CPU-rant no. 225.678 and counting :phones:

Still below your commercials :D

And on a more serious note, every Falcon patch can be customized so it becomes more CPU friendly, one of the reasons I often install numerous switches in my patches where you can just switch all the CPU suckers off, especially things like Xpander filters, convolution reverb, bitcrusher FX, the new Thorus with a high voice count, or install a Macro to set the number of granular voice streams, or reduce the number of unison voices in a wavetable synth, and and and and and and - it's all very well doable.

Sure....but it's like cut the Falcon wings :)
However, don't take me too serious.
It's a hate/love thing with me and Falcon. Still trying to get the best out of it
Will post the next cpu rant after next update!
Cheers and Happy Easter

Well, this is more general info not only aimed at you - if you don't need the bitcrusher or the convo reverb in a patch, just switch it off, no cutting wings there, and substituting a high CPU filter with a different type which eats less CPU or e.g. switching off/reducing oversampling in the waveshaper often won't be even audible, especially not in a mix.

EDIT: ahh, yes Easter, happy :phones:
