10th track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

From 1971, this is my oldest track so far. There are about 4 Rolling Stones songs that I really love. This is one of them. It's laid back a bit but Keith's guitar parts made this a real nightmare to even attempt to do. Eventually, short of a few parts that I figured out, I just did my own thing so there are quite a few liberties taken here.

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews! Now listening to "Love & Loneliness": love the way it starts, even though I didn't recognize the song until the strings kicked in. The bass drives the song nicely, even more than the original. Is that Modo Bass? The strings sound very good! It wouldn't be easy for anyone to compete with the original vocally. I don't even remember who does this originally.....OK I looked it up again....not sure if they were a one hit wonder group. Then I had to listen to the original on the YouTube; I haven't heard that song in quite some time. Oh, I have this song on an 80's compilation CD too. Brings back some nice memories. Anyway, I think you covered it nicely. :)

wagtunes,
Now listening to 'Can't Get it Out of my Head': this song has always been an emotional song for me. Almost makes me want to cry.......but boys don't cry! Your piano sounds great. Strings sound excellent. The human choir sounds good. This group was huge in the 70's, I like a lot of their songs. Whether it be the human choir or the lead vocal, the original had iconic vocals on the song; so you are brave to cover this classic. I think your cover version turned out very well, especially instrumentally. :)

Nick Garvey had a voice like no one else. So yeah, trying to sing this took a lot of guts. But I figured, what the heck. It's one of my favorite songs along with their other hit that I covered, "Today" a few pages back.

Their biggest song was "Airport"

Thanks for the listen and feedback.

Yeah, another one that took a lot of guts to do. This was one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups.

This whole project has been a total joy to do. Six more tracks and it'll be done.

Thanks again for the listen and the feedback. Oh and yes, on Love and Loneliness that is MODO Bass.

11th track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

From 1978, "Goodbye Girl" by David Gates.

This was a bitch.

12th track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

This one from 1970. The riffs on this were murder.

Only 4 tracks left to do (1989 is next) and then this project is done.

Now I'm going off to dig up another one of Aaron's threads so I can get some feedback on the last 3 tunes.

Cool version Wags. This one suits you... Your vocals sound good on this.
The music is interesting, sounds a bit industrial...
I like this song and your version is good!

13th track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

From 1989, my 2nd Billy Joel song.

Took a lot of guts to do this one. For starters, there's no steady beat so I couldn't play it to a click track. Then, there was learning the piano part in the first place. Much harder than it sounds. Then the vocals are right out there as there's not much to hide them behind. This is all piano with a little orchestration that I did take some liberties with.

Without a doubt the hardest song on the CD.

Good job there imo, you could likely improve your singing a lot, if you seriously wanted to do that.
*You know with training, exercise and whatnot...

At age 62, I think my best years are behind me vocally.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback.

Some decent covers there. Wild World was good. Joel is a good songwriter; nowadays no-one really writes lyrics that are meaningful. Some of the older songs have a real depth to them. I remember Smokey Robinson (my favourite vocalist) said he made his songs a three-minute story. Great vocalist, great songwriter.
Anyway, kudos, a lot of these piano parts are not easy to get down.

The last few songs have been unbelievably hard. They make it sound so easy, especially Billy Joel. The song I'm working on now is the hardest of the lot. This will probably take me days to finish.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Much appreciated.
