Some of those Myka guitars are drop dead georgeous, just looking through the galleries. Think i'm in love with some of those ;)

And sometime a better looking guitar inspires you to give a better performance. Just as many things in life.

Well...3 more days and February is over. Will we receive our copies of AT2 on Mon. or Tues.?

As I mentioned earlier, the semi-official date is now mid-march.

Been playing around with my AT2 and my 60's Dano and my Tele bass. You know, the bass amp in AT2 is pretty darn good! That combined with the octave pedal is a lot of fun.

When it comes to amps there are an infinite amount of possible characterstics. That's why even from one hardware amp to another of the same model there are differences. Sometimes even the same amp one day vs another (or depending on how old the tubes are even). So, in my opinion if you have a great hardware amp that you love there is NO REASON to get rid of it just because of cool amp sims. It's just a different animal.

What I like about AT2 from the perspective of engineering (rather than as a pro guitarist which I am not) is that you have so many great elements to choose as options to dial in the sound you want. I mean, typically you have on your console and outboard gear some EQ, Compression etc. But, with this you have speaker/cabinet modeling, individual pre-amp, amp tone and power amp modeling on top of a cool self-contain multieffects routing system with some nice models of vintage fx inside (my favorites being models of: CE1 chorus, an optical tremolo!!!, fuzzface-Jimmy!, Dynacomp, Phase100-mine ;) , Tubescreamer-SRV! and the Octaver). The more I get to work with it in the context of making music the more I feel like it is an indispensable producer/engineer and songwriter's tool for your virtual studio set up.

So, I would venture to say that if you are a producer, engineer or songwriter then this is a must-have and that should even be evident to you by the audio demos and the spec list. I mean, LOOK WHAT YOU CAN DO!!!! It is very powerful! One word of warning though. The presets are awesome. But, if you want to make your own you do have to know what you're doing a bit with gain stages. There are a lot of them! It IS possible to sound like total crap if you are making your own presets from scratch and your gain settings are not right. Luckily there are some helpful tips on how to do it. Most people who don't know how to do that can rely mostly on the presets and tweak from there (which I think a lot of people do even on keyboards).

Now for a guitar player who is NOT an engineer/producer or multi-instrumentalist songwriter I think it is a different story. I don't have that perspective personally but I can see that there are quite a few people who have shown up in this thread that seem to be. If you are looking at this as "Is this going to be the holy grail sound I am looking for?" then let me tell you there is only ONE way to find out for sure and that is to try it yourself with your OWN guitar. It depends on how picky you are of course. Although, I think those that are looking for a particular thing already know that.

The reason I am mentioning this is because I try to give my genuine perspective on this stuff. Sure, we DO sell it and I am going to to talk about the seductive side of it (you expect that from me if you know me anyway). But, one thing I don't like is when someone buys something on my recommendation and is dissapointed because it didn't do what they wanted it to and felt they "bought into the hype". One of the reasons I spend my time here on KVR is to help people make GOOD buying decisions, not just the decision to buy. The whole point of intelligent discussion on this stuff (notice I said intelligent... this thread is all over the map from dog poo all the way up to brilliance! ) is to try to understand these tools from different perspectives. From one perspective a product can be the coolest effect plug-in ever! From another perspective it can be "not quite what I am looking for in a guitar amp sound".

So, having spent a while with the release version of AT2 VST in Windows within my Cubase SX3 I can say that if you are a producer/engineer and/or songwriter and doing any style of music that uses amps and vintage fx then this is absolutely not to miss in my opinion. I stand behind that 100%. It just does too many unique things for the money not to have in your set up. But, if you are primarily a guitar player and maybe not much of the other three then IF you are particular about your guitar sound then please DON'T buy it on my recommendation because I have no idea if it will please you or not. Only YOU know that. You wouldn't buy a hardware amp or a guitar first without trying it would you? So, this is probably the same. The only safe thing I can say about that is that with 20,000 amp combinations and models of 82 different pieces of gear in there you are bound to find SOMETHING you like! ;) One would think. But, you never know.

I hope that is a helpful contribution to some people. I already know some people don't want to hear anything about AT2 anymore from me and just want to see it released. All I can say to that is that if you don't want to hear me talk then Ben has this great feature called "mute me" and I suggest you do that so that others who do want to hear what I have to say can appreciate it. The other thing I wanted to say is that is coming in March some time and we're going to be taking pre-orders on www.esoundz.com THIS WEEK!

Thanks for listening. I may still do some demos but I will probably just do them and post them on esoundz. Just more to listen to at least. Cheers!

HYPE! HYPE! HYPE! OMG I'M GONNA PEE MY PANTS! THE WORLD IS CHANGED NOW!

seriously squids who lives under the sea, you haven't been living under a rock, I'm pretty sure of this. Why do you keep insisting those features are somehow new and unique to AT2?

Oh wait. You're hyping a product you're affiliated to.

Hey Squids,
Do you, or sell/make rock drum loops at esoundz/sonicreality? I looked, but everything seems to be geared towards dance. Not that there's anything wrong with dance/hip-hop/techno/etc., but I need rock drums...lol

So now we should be expecting AT2 in the mail some time in March, as A3ntar has been stating? Not being smart, just wondering?
Thanks

Thanks
I asked IK about this and Yes, its been delayed til Mid-March like A3ntar said.
But I don't rely on this either because they were saying
that AT2 is going to be released on February on there website, but its been delayed as you know.

LOL...Putte you're crazy! There are so many conflicting reports on the release of AT2 that I may as well stop asking when I will receive the software. Does anyone know if it will be available as a download?

we're still confused about the low down...

So all I am saying is JUST hype to you? You're missing a lot then.

Why do I keep insisting these features are somehow new and unique to AT2? I don't have any other plug-ins that have component modeling of this range of vintage gear (with 20,000 possible combinations) and integrated within a complete self-contained stomp/amp/rack effect system. Do you?

If not, maybe you should stop dismissing what I say as just hype just because we sell it. That's pretty closed minded in my opinion.

Oh and anyone who can't "see past the hype" in my posts I invite to just MUTE me. I am tired of defending my position against insulting posts like this. There's no excuse to be rude like that. :x
