You can get scaler bundle with other plugin and save a few that way. Like this one below. That is if you're plnning on buying both plugin anyway of course. I've seen scalers in other bundle too. Me I'm waiting for a sale. hehe!

On December 27, 2018 I picked up Scaler for £28.41 which is roughly $35. It's made for PluginBoutique by a British programmer/producer. They listen to user feedback and constantly update the plugin for free.

I bought Scaler for about the same price end of 2017 when it was at v1.0.
I thought it was Aussie made, rather than British, but anyway @telecode bear in mind that they've added a lot of functionality to it since it first came out and ironed out some bugs, so its not unreasonable imo to pay a little bit more for it now.

I think they increased the price of Scaler after release 1.5? I remember it being cheaper before.

thanks. i think i will wait for a better scalar sale. i am in no hurry. i used to not use these types of things, but then i started trying out Cubases chord assistant thing and its a interesting tool. Give you a lot of different ideas than just trying out different chords on your own.

I bought the ECM 87 a few years ago and got the software. Basically your characterization of the mic is about right (not harsh, just bright) and the software does take it into different realms by subtle boosts of mids and trimming highs depending on th mic you want to clone. I felt like the mic is a good buy for the price and the software works but I have low expectations for mic cloning. The mic maker is also a contributor on Taxi podcasts so I heard him talk about it at length. I think the software is designed for the mic : it would be a gamble for you. I also have a Neuman U89 but have pulled out the ECM at times

I'm almost finished with a mic modeling plugin for our new NOS12 microphone. The NOS12 is a large diaphragm, transformer-coupled tube mic and all the mics it's modeling are other large diaphragm, transformer-coupled tube mics, such as the C12, U47, U67, M49, C800G, etc. The idea is that it can more accurately reproduce those mics because the mic itself already has similar transient response and harmonic distortion, and all the plugin really needs to do is match the frequency responses of those other microphones.

I bought Slate's mic and modeling system a year or so ago. I like the mic. It is very flat and I actually end up using it without the modeling stuff most of the time. I don't really find they add that much, at least for this mic. I have used Antares's mic modeling and someone else's as well with some of my cheaper mics. It sometimes helps. At least it gives a bit of a different sound. And maybe because it is my voice, I don't always hear it. I use it mostly for vocals.

I have been kind of eyeing the NOS mic. it looks interesting for the price.

You may be referring to us. We did that the first day and then stopped when we found out it was a mistake.

We are offering the NOS12 for $199 without the modeling plugin or $249 with the modeling plugin to the first 100 people who order. The NOS12 is expected to ship March 1, 2019.
