This Sea Devils Filter could be used for the EMS filter clone.

Some exciting news
We've got a very characterful filter section going, modeling CA3080-based State Variable Filters (think SEM/OB-X). At first it was difficult to distinguish this from the 12dB Multimode filter, but actually, analysing our OB-X and a SEM made for enough difference to justify a new module. The process is painful and tedious but it'll be worth it.

We also have a very powerful new oscillator model (be prepared for a big surprise here) and a performance-oriented Arpeggiator/Sequencer combo.

We'll showcase this during Musikmesse in April, so release should be expected around that time.

Still no idea when / if ever we do a SSM or CEM based filter model.

Cheers,

Urs
I'm so looking forward the new components, especially the OSC's ! Urs, did you share yet any hint at what it will be ? I love surprises, but damn, I'm curious !

No I didn't. And I won't :)

Oberheim Matrix 12 and ObXa would be a nice addition .

Hmm. Ok, a completely unrelated question, then. If I decide to visit the Musikmesse, should I bring you guys some loaner TB-303s? ;)

no spoilers please, let's cherish the surprise. :hyper:

btw filters take time to get acquainted to and get used to.

when i first installed diva i was hooked on the juno filter (cos it shaped things harsher and more defined).
then i started appreciating the classy saturated sound of the moog filter the most.
then i found myself settling halfway on the jupiter 8 filter which now is my favourite by a long shot...and my go to filter.

i've not yet found a 12db filter that does it for me (i guess i'm a 24db guy) but hoping the oberheim filter will make me appreaciate a less steep slope for some uses.

My favourite is probably the ladder in 12db mode. It's just so colourful

New oscillator modes = VERY exciting

Of course not. I was merely thinking ahead of our cherished surprise (and I guess I'm a 18dB/oct. guy myself, btw). ;)

Urs, I'm just curious. I've been reading a lot of stuff recently (always dangerous) about rigging power supplies between dissimilar modular systems. I came across an interesting discussion about the effect of the unbalanced power rails on the old Moogs (+12/-6). So, when filtering and inverting the signal you get a non-equal clipping to the wave form. Did you try any of that kind of thing in the Diva architecture? Is it of interest in producing another audio pallet for dealing with oscillator output? It clearly has a different impact to the wave forms than the current balanced (+12/-12, +15/-15) that is currently in vogue even with the Moog clone modules.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

We haven't messed with power supplies.

I do know that the very same circuit can be very sensitive to bias voltage, e.g. Polysix/5V = great, Opera6/15V = d'oh

Nevertheless, finding the right amount of asymmetry is key to, uhm, sound.

Yep, we're really excited too. It's a bit of a shocker though. Quite blasphemous actually. You'll love it.

Supersaw? Wavetables? Both? Neither?
