Well, I have a mess in front of me, and I just haven't had time to clear it up for an entry. Good luck to all the entrants, and see you in June!

Ok here is my take after sweating tears and blood :)

http://soundcloud.com/davias/davias-podol-not-skilled

First time entry, don't be too harsh ;), Podolski is hard to tame for me and to mix. But can be surprising sometimes making sounds you never thought you would be able to do with few controls ^^

28 instances of Podolski used. All patches made from scratch except for the hi-hats that are derived from one of the factory presets (can't remember the name for now).

DAW : Renoise.

Stock Filter, Stock EQ.

FXs :
Terry West - CS12M 1.69
Michael Gruhn - Transient Shaper
VOS - ThrillseekerXTC, BootEQmkII, NastyVCS
Signal Dust - TSClip
Melda Production - MEqualizer
LoudMax
Audiocation - Compressor
B.A. Tech - T-Eq
Phoenix in Flight - Optron 3A
Nugen - LineUp
Freeverb3 - Freeverb, N_Reverb
DVS - Neon Gate
Xfer - OTT, DJMFilter
AD - RoughRider
Smart Electronix - Cyanide2
Hbasms - Stereoizer
Platinum Ears - L3V3LL3R-X3
Tekkit Audio - Equilibre
WOK - BassPlus
Antress - ModernVRME
lkjb - luftikus
RS-Met - Engineers Filter
cockos - ReaFir
Vladg Sound - Limiter n°6
Sonalksis - FreeG
Direct Approach - LimitX

Sorry for the long list :p

I hope I did everything right to register to the contest. I uploaded the track on the one synth challenge on soundcloud. Hope all the fx are legits, I can still change some if they (or their specific use here) are not allowed. I just realized some Fx at the end didn't triggered but I can't update the track as I'm free user on soundcloud. If someone sees something wrong, please tell me ! ;)

Good luck to everybody !! :D

Due rushing towards the deadline, I made mistakes by not listing the host and effects used. I have participated before in OSC32, and was able to list those stuff properly, but that was long time ago. I was able also to upload, but now I forgot to do that in Soundcloud. But to be honest, I did not do this on purpose.
I wrote email asking for help.

Instead of having arguments with V'ger, I decided to withdraw.

Cheers,
g7

My first entry into a One Synth Challenge.

It was really interesting to dig into this synth.

21 instances of Podolski in Logic Pro 9. All the sounds were made from the INIT patch except for two rhythm tracks which are heavily tweaked version of an arpeggio preset called Tone Groove. Only Logic built in effects -- compression on a few tracks, overall limiting, one reverb shared by the mix.

Bjporter - Nature was the Machine

Extremely Serious Backstory:
Continuing from OSC51's adventure... this song tells the full story of what they found on the planet. The tribal people there thought the ship was an invader, so they played solemn music, hopeless against a flying metal 'god' - a solemn last jam out. The crew of the space ship however were stunned by the natural structures (aka plants, animals) of the planet - a self sustainable biosphere and system. Even more impressed were they by the complex micro structure of each organism capable of sentient life, and self-repair - all powered from solar energy by a strange yellow star. In the end both rejoiced and had a jolly good dance. As the spaceship blasted off, either side was left confused at the other's technological prowess.

A rather eclectic piece of mine. As the night went by... I think I got totally delirious.
Strong emphasis on eastern instruments, and also an Acoustic guitar.

Instances: Around 30+
Cubase 6
Tal Reverb 3, Engineer Filter... and more.... I'll make a video walkthrough soon.

Does anyone else get that feel right after uploading, you realize you needed like another day to finish? :hihi:

Can't wait to hear all the entries... so psyched

Haha, always.

By the way, is there a way to see the total amount of time for all the tracks?

Looks like it was submitted after midnight of June 1st.

I thought it had to be before June 1st? Maybe the KVR time is wrong, I don't know.

Well, in Germany they say ' Don't be more papal than the pope.' So who cares. I hope we don't lose a great entry. Please, V'ger and Irion.

Submissions now closed

Fantastic showing this time, a whopping 65 entries is easily the new record number of entries.

There's obviously something about a small and friendly u-he synth and prize from the same developer that is inspiring to people as last record was Triple Cheese.

Will get the voting thread up soon.

About deadline, all looks Ok. Remember that to see the correct KVR time, you must be logged out of KVR and the page refreshed otherwise you will see your local time. Also, the upload to SoundCloud is the real measure of upload time more than the write-up here in the forum. We also don't want to be too anal about the time and will allow for the all-too-typical Murphy's law hitting the stressed 'deadliner' in the last minute, it's after all a friendly competition. Obviously late entries or votes will however still be disallowed, something that has happened before.

Ok, got it thanks V'ger

Some good songs are on the long list (world record? :hihi: )

I still have more to listen to today.
I'm about halfway through hearing them all. :)
