When choosing a digital oscillator I remember being frustrated having to right click, scroll, select, until one person told me a way to instantly scroll through them but I can't recall how.

Obviously I've tried up/down/left/right etc. Have also RTFM and nothing.

Any ideas?
I bumped this thread after 12 months for a genuine question and it seems this was lost in the subsequent chat.

Any ideas on this?

I have similar concerns about the beatles back catalogue. I'm considering writing to Mr. McCartney to inform him that his music is too vintage sounding, and should be brought up to today's standards. Today's sound is the high bar everything else is measured by afterall...... ?

Resizing it is great, even though I feel like a vampire staring into the sun when I look at it. It's albinocity ( I've probably just invented that word ) is blinding.

Thanks for your response. This isn't much quicker, if any, than just using the mouse.

I thought there was a way to scroll through them if you simply hover over the wave name and then press up/down etc.

I don't recall that was ever possible...

Maybe I'm getting mixed up with another plugin then.
At the moment it's a massive faff changing them.

The cool thing is - the parameter is automatable (separately for each menu and each of the 4 oscillators), so you could assign it to a macro control in your DAW (say in Live this should be very easy and automatic, in REAPER you can set it as a track control, in Cubase as a Quick Control... you get the idea).

Now there's a thought. Thanks for this!

Still returning time to time to Albino 3 and its sounds ages in a nice way. Still unique sounding in a future retro way.

Definitely has a unique vintage digitalness charm to it, love it for cold drones and evolving pads.

He was a brilliant sound designer and one of my all time favourites. He also worked with Image-Line and Cakewalk among others. Sadly after he graduated from Law School he apparently left the synthesizer field and I haven't heard from him since.

In my archive there is a collection called Diversity Free which as the name implies was a cut down free version of a commercial soundset.

There are some awesome patches in that collection that I think really show Albino 3 is still relevant in 2024 so I'd love for everyone to be able to use them.

However the EULA included states "You may not redistribute any of the files and/or parts of this package in any way, shape, or form without the written consent of the Pro-Sounds".

Unfortunately Pro-Sounds has long since gone out of business over a decade ago. I see that Yemski is mentioned and I know he worked with Xenos as well. Does anyone know how to contact Frank?

Seems a shame that such great presets should just fade away into history. Here's a link to the original product release announcement:

Teksonik: This set was recently updated for Albino 3 Legend and re-released by Rob Papen. I'm very happy to see them getting some play again!

P.S.: Thanks for the idea of having him release them.

Hi Frank, great to see you back again! :tu:

I saw that a bunch of new presets were added to Albino in the Explorer 10 bundle so I wondered if those were yours. I'm very happy that everyone can enjoy them now. They really are great patches.

I haven't upgraded from Explorer 9 yet more due to a nagging shoulder injury that has made it quite unpleasant to play keyboard but will almost certainly do the upgrade when Rob releases the new synth he's been teasing. I hope you will keep on designing new sounds..... :)

Yup, that's probably the Pro-Sounds set. The only ones that weren't included from the original Pro-Sounds release were the 128 audio input presets using Albino 3 as an effect. I can't remember exactly why, but there was some reason they just didn't cross over properly to Albino 3 Legend. All of the other presets from the original Pro-Sounds set of 1,028 are there, though.

I have plans for a limited come back...I just bought some new equipment for my older kids so I can start teaching them the joys of synthesizers and recording software. Still waiting to pick up some additional equipment and software, and I won't have a ton of time with my litigation schedule, but I plan on at least doing some hobby releases like the ones I used to put out when ToTc Productions first started (before I took over at Pro-Sounds). I'm especially excited about some of the newer Korg and Roland software synthesizers (newer to me, at least).

Keep an eye out, keep in touch, and take care of that shoulder!

This is what it says on the Rob Papen-site on the soundsets page for Albino:

"Albino-3 Legend XPS Preset Collection" adds over 850 presets!
Created for the Albino-3 many years ago by Pro-Sounds and released as the Diversity Soundset, these top-notch sounds are converted to Albino-3 Legend and are also available in the NI NKS format.

Please note that this soundset is part of the eXplorer-10 bundle."

I went looking for them in Albino first after reading that they were included and there's no Diversity patches but the XPS are there. Really enjoying these! Thanks for letting Rob include them TotcProductions and thanks Teksonik for making me aware of them.
