Hi, morning,
It's been a long time, so bear with me-- I might not be getting it right.
What I THINK happens is that Tracktion knows you want to record MIDI (rather than audio) because of the VSTi that appear on the track, and because Trollo is a MIDI device; however, for reasons I don't know much about, Tracktion won't record the "MIDI" that's generated by Trollo.
Now, I know you want to record Audio, not MIDI, so I'm sure there must be a workaround. I just don't know what it is offhand. It seems to me that I had to use a plugin called "Thalamus" (it's not in the KvR database, but Google for it) on a seperate track in order to capture the MIDI information. Once you've captured the MIDI, you can render to audio.
I know that's not ideal, but I know there's a solution. Hopefully others will have a better one.

thanks Lunch Money..,, i gonna try that plugin,
i guess tracktion does´nt work like for example XT,
in this aplication we just have to connect the audio outputs of the plugin to the audio inputs of the sequencer and we can record whatever we are doing inside a plugin to an audio track..,thats usefull for example for plugins like reaktor, were we have a lot of sequencer ensembles that generate rythmes and melodies, like that we just have to hit rec button and thats it..
..but Tracktion seems very interesting , i think just know im getting the idea of it,..i didn´t even noticed the racks feature the first time i try T.,
Edit-it would be easy if we could load vsti filters before the tracks (like the audio imputs and midi imputs) and not just after tracks

Hi,
I've started using Tracktion yesterday. I found out that master filter's volume & pan settings won't work on midi clips. I have to set CC#7 and CC#10 at the start of the clip using the drawing tool or CC Rider. Also, master filter "apply to midi velocities" setting don't really scales the note velocities by master volume (as I believe it should) but rather creates a gate. Am I overlooking something?
Best regards,
delon

Hey,
Trying out Tracktion and having fun with it. Nice to have something which allows you to switch time signatures at any point in a song! Great!
One problem though. I'm getting stuck notes almost constantly when I compose in the piano roll. Like a note that is constantly on, with no way to stop it.
Is there a way to stop this? Or a MIDI PANIC style button?
Thanks,
Nick

New to the PC for music (was a Mac person for years) and am trying out Tracktion. When I minimize the Tracktion screen, I lose all sound from my soft synths. To get it back I must reload the project.
Is there a way of changing this behavior?
Thanks,
Gene

yeah - found it - it's under Options, not in the misc settings, where I was looking last night.
Thanks - damn that was driving me crazy...

ok - posting this question probably means that I'll find the solution myself soon after posting, but this is driving me crazy, so I'll ask.
I'm enjoying working in Tracktion - I am now an official user, and anxiously await T2, whose midi clock capabilities I sorely need....but anyway...
I have an application that just loves to send program changes to Tracktion just when I don't want it to. What I'd like to do is tell Tracktion to filter out any incoming program change messages. Seems like it should have this capability, but I haven't found it yet. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Gene

Hi,
I got the NFR version of TRacktion from the Mackie website. Registered and got the Tracktion key. I have another partition on my machine. Installed tracktion there, but it rejected the TRacktion key.
Solution ?
thanks

The key shouldn't be partition-specific; however, the simplest way to do it is to go to the 'about' box and look at the ID. Then go to my.mackie.com and make sure that the machine IDs are a match.
If they're not a match, get a new key automatically sent to you from your my.mackie.com account. If they ARE a match, then my other suggestion is to unlock using the 'about' box dialog rather than dragging and dropping.

MIDI controllers? Press the little knob icon on the MIDI tool-bar: Select the relevant controller type and you can edit / delete these. (I would guess volume is the most likely..)galimpic wrote:What are those vertical blue lines in MIDI clips? They show up when I record MIDI from a drum module and cannot be edited.
