Ben?
will T3 Support dragable inputs still?
i love the way you can drag inputs in T1 & in T2 if you use the old style inputs,
i hope we wont lose this in T3!! it makes recording easy as pie

Nothing substantial, I just haven't seen them in any screenshots yet.ttoz wrote:what makes you think they will be gone??Warmonger wrote:I can hardly believe it, but I'm with subz on this one. Draggable inputs were probably the first thing that got me hooked on T1 in the first place. I realize it doesn't work great when you've got tons of inputs, but, well, I don't.

presumably then (and assuming they havent been gotten rid of - and i personally dont see why they would) either the released screenshots dont show that view or the appearance of the draggable inputs has been changed ???

I think that this may be what you are seeking confirmation to?Beno wrote:Improved Input Routing view and operation combining previous old and new views

What is the reason T won't record this CC? How difficult could this be to make this change? If there was a way to put a CC remap plugin in BEFORE the record module, then we could just use that as a work-around, but it does seem very strange that Tracktion doesn't record such a common CC.Daniel78 wrote:Thats sad to hearSorry Daniel, at this point, Aftertouch has not been added yetI guess i'll be waiting a little longer to upgrade then.
Just to clarify, mono-aftertouch(or channel pressure) is just another MIDI controller like pitch-bend or the mod-wheel. It really surprises me its been overlooked for so long. I can't imagine it would be a big task to add it. Currently Tracktion quite happily passes it on to the filters/synths but just doesn't record it.
Saying that, i'm sure everyone is busy, and the rest of the updates really do look pretty cool.
Honesty is overatedjplanet wrote:At least my performaces will be honest ones, and not tweaked in the piano roll...
Perhaps I'm really reaching, but my synth 'controller' keyboard actually has key aftertouch - not just channel aftertouch. It would be REALLY cool to record that as MIDI in T.

I recently finally followed the instruction on using AT-Saver to workaround the aftertouch issue. It's actually not that bad at all. It's quite a bit simpler than the instructions appear to be. I created an edit that just has the two necessary tracks set up the way instructed at the following link, so now I just unpack the archive into any new project:
http://www.pethu.se/atsaver/index.html
It's funny that on that page the plugin's author thought it would be obsolete by version 2. Better download it now before he realized T3 might still need it, else he might start charging for it!

jplanet, I had totally forgotten about this workaround. This is demonstration to me that it could be done within T actually. Maybe Mackie just needs to buy Per Thulin's code like they did with Rumpelrausch Taips ZR3 and some others with the T2 release. Seems like they could avoid the external midi routing.jplanet wrote:I recently finally followed the instruction on using AT-Saver to workaround the aftertouch issue. I hope they do someting to get it working -- to set up tracks like that is so contradictory to the smooth T workflow.
I'm also not sure if the workaround would work for a hardware synth...
Anyway, let's keep fingers crossed that it's added. Oddly, I think it may have slipped down the priority list just because it was assumed that it would be simple and would definitely be there. I was almost certain that it would have been in a point update already, so I never included it in my most-wanted feature requests.
Anyway, Jorgen has already announced aftertouch support in XT2, so maybe there will at least be an easier workaround by using eXT as a wrapper...
