There are always options. Here's one (not the only one, of course) - I have a bunch of PPC software I can't run on my current MBP. So I have a virtual machine of Snow Leopard on here, just to run those apps. Or keep an old second PPC machine around to run old software. There are always options. Yes, it's inconvenient when software you use a lot is abandoned - I have all the Redmatica products, and especially love Keymap Pro. But there is usually a way to keep the stuff you have running, even if it's more inconvenient that you'd like.
And all this is assuming later OSX releases will stop Alchemy from working at all, which may not be the case at all - we can't see the future.
And yes, I can still use my EA Inspector XL plugins, on my current Mac, ten years, and multiple OSX and architectural changes, on...
