I admit that i made misstakes in the past when the company was still young. I apologize for it and I have learned from it. I fixed and changed things - many of them already years ago.
Since this year the copy protection is a keyfile only or has been completely removed to make sure that older products continue to work for a long time in the future.

People feel insulted when called “foolish”. I fail to see where me pointing out that this is widely interpreted as an insult is an “attack”.

You might also want to look up slippery slope fallacy, as you are using the phrase incorrectly in this context.

Here's how it works.

Person A punches person B.

Person B: Ouch! That hurt! Why did you punch me? Please stop!

Person A: !!! I can't believe you just said that I would hurt you! How could you say that? That's incredibly hurtful!

Person A continues to punch Person B. Person B becomes victimized, questions their own feelings and actions, and allows the punching to continue for fear of hurting Person A with their words.

Fortunately for us, we are not victims, and we do not tolerate gaslighting.
