Thanks, i know ;)
i wanted to hear it from Jake.

the new Newsletter has the wording different.
The former wording was deceiptive.

That´s not accidents.
and that´s where you completly lose me !
...beeing welll aware that this type of practices, read: "wordings" are taking more and more place within this scene.

i´m not relaxed on such things. YallMMV
That triggered me as well - subject of mail says free, doesnt mention you need to get Current - which is stated in email with smallest font in the bottom of it.

Buy X, get Y free.
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus

you send out newsletters saying:
" get Hybrid filter for $0 "

but thats coupled to a purchase or subscription of "Current, right ?
I had thought free trials of the subscription would count, but the fine print says they don't: "Offer only applies to Current Perpetual and Current All Access purchases. Free trials are excluded."

Where is the offer? Can you send the link? I want able to find. I have current perpetual so I am interested.

Happy Holidays! Yes we got Hybrid Filter up on the website and decided to give a copy for free to all the Current users or anyone who signs up for Current this weekend. I don't do the emails myself, but the one I received on one of my test accounts had this subject line & started with this copy.

I'm sure a bunch of other variants of the email went out to different people. If you felt triggered by what you received then I'm sorry I will be sure to put the marketing team in a small cage and prod them with sticks until they make things perfect for everyone.

You can get hybrid filter for $15 by signing up for the Current All Access plan. Enjoy!

The code is HYBRIDFILTER23 Jac -- you can add it to your cart here: https://www.minimal.audio/products/hybrid-filter & use the code in your cart. The website will detect if you have Current active and apply the promotion if it's applicable to your account.

yup, that´s what triggered me.
It´s in that sense advertisement directly coming into my living room.
But subject of mail a lie...........just a rude attempt to make me click the mail.

Its common, yes.
But there are a dozend of shades how you can word it.
One could put it blatantly into the header, ...with even nothing else. Or have it inside the mail.

glad the quotes were not just piss against me ;)
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Yeah, worked! Very happy with the gift, thanks!

Some KvRians are really funny. „Company sends out mails with marketing stuff (and fine print!) on Black Friday!!! And give a plug in away for free to their customers - how dare they!“ Guys, you‘re really on to something.

Joking aside: I wish I would get the marketing mails. I am one of their users and do NOT get them. Which is much more annoying, as I nearly missed the gift. Thanks to Jac459 and Minimal Audio for the code - got it now. :tu:

Hey hey, agree.

By the way I love filters and this one seems to be a good tool, quite different from Volcano 3 with its own features and all. Thanks Minimal Audio, nice BF gift !

I got the email - but was wondering how to get the plugin - so thanks for the code!
FYI - when I tried to download the Hybrid Filter manual I get htis message:
Image
John Braner
http://johnbraner.bandcamp.com
http://www.soundclick.com/johnbraner
and all the major streaming/download sites.

When does the offer with the free Filter end?

edit: Just saw in the email "this weekend only".

So you have never received an Email with something claiming something is free only to find that there is some kind of prerequisite attached?

I mean 99% of marketing Emails do this kind of thing.

My immediate response to any Email claiming something for free is not "Oh great something for free" it's "what's the catch?".

I then read through the Email to see which limb I'm going to have to sell to get the "free" thing.

I don't really agree.
It is not like they said "the plug in is now free for everybody", they said, "you can get the plugin for 0$", which clearly hint on the fact that you will have to do something for it (either by registering to something or purchase other thing or whatever).
We are still talking about something being offered here.
I know some stuffs are open source and I am myself developing open source things...

But at one moment, these guys have an expertise, they are highly skilled people, they came to work on the morning, for a certain period of time, in order to develop a plugin, and now they are bundling it for free for you to use it... It is not bad... It can't be "totally free", that's not a reasonable expectation. The relationship has to be win-win at one moment...

Plenty of plugin and VI developers offer limited-time freebies to encourage people to upgrade or buy their other plugins. For example Waves just offered a free BF plugin---that is almost certainly going to be followed by an expanded paid version.

The header of the email I received said: "FREE Hybrid Filter - Built for Low End". If it had said "free with purchase or paid subscription" I wouldn't have opened the email, because I want to give MA more time to come out with Current presets that I like and then do the free trial.

That said, IMO it's a very minor issue. But definitely annoying.
