"Malformed BWF files can now be tagged safely, without the risk of corruption or file size inflation." I heard about this bug, and the fact that it's just now getting fixed is mind-blowing considering it was causing file corruption, which I think was affecting the whole Media Bay if it happened.
I'm curious when you 'heard about this bug' as I'm the one that reported it and worked with Joerg to figure out why it happened, and this was only about two months ago.

The fix came out less then a month after we figured it out, and sorry but the 'malformed BWF' files were something I may have done on my own using a combination of things, and it was only a small handful of files among tens of thousands in my library. Its not a common issue at all and my submission was the first they had seen it. The sky isnt falling, calm down.

Does anybody can confirm the search bug in Cubase 14 on Mac? I posted on the forum, but they can't find the issue! But I see this problem on Gregs Livestream as well..

I’ve certainly run into this issue - but very rarely

A bigger bug for me is all the visuals on regions going missing until I have to quit and restart and everything is back to perfect visuals.

Yeah, can you mention this please on the Steinberg forum? Maybe they will find the issue

I read this forum post and from what I can gather Martin is asking for a step by step documentation of what you are doing to get it to fail...written out.

Apparently he needs more than the video.

Step by step? It's always in Cubase and it's random bug. On the Greg Mac I also saw this bug. And what step by step I need to give them? It's a Cubase bug which seems random...

Alexander: I'm just trying to explain to you what Martin is looking for: a repeatable method to expose the issue you're having. That's what he does.

Go on the Cubase forum and tell him this.

Well. Honestly I don't know what I can say more... I wrote about this issue, attached videos, screenshots, video from Gregs Cubase Livestream... it's so simple to give me the answer that they can't reproduce the bug. But it's on the Greg Mac as well. And he streaming with this bug. So, I am not the one. And it's Cubase issue for sure... It's just need the time from their side and seems that they didn't want to test this area

I recently acquired a Cubase 13 Pro license in trade. I am considering upgrading to 14, but with 15 already in beta I am wondering about the timing. Does their grace period window cover recent upgrades too? i.e. if I upgrade to 14 within 30 days of 15 being released, will 15 be a free upgrade?

I'm still trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade to 14 otherwise, as well. I am primarily a Reaper and Bitwig user, with Logic being my third DAW. So, this would be a pretty discretionary upgrade for me, but I would do it for substantial improvements.

Cubase 15 will likely be released around mid October - Christmas time. More than likely in November for sure. Idk about timing of upgrades im a first time cubase user so I can’t help you there. For me cubase 14 does a lot of what I love about bitwig (I don’t go deep into modulators but I love the basic stuff like lfo and envelope followers) but also more of a fleshed out arrangement and piano roll.

But bitwig announced beta 6 so if your into that best hold onto your money for a month and see what they do and who knows maybe cubase will have beta by then.

Oh yeah, unless it takes an extremely long time to release, I will get Bitwig 6 with my current update plan. And I would renew anyway if I didn't.

They usually offer a -40% to -50% during summer (not always though) so you can buy a Cubase 14 update licence, don't activate it and when Cubase 15 is announced, you activate it and get 15 for free.

I picked up an update last night, so now the challenge is just to hold off until 15 launches before I activate it :)

I realize this is bait for people to tempt me to upgrade now
