Btw, I don't feel that the dongle will add any latency to the real-time operations of the applications as I don't see them doing dongle calls when doing real-time DSP.
I think no company wants a copy protection to slow down their software to the point that it becomes CPU heavy or slow response time. So I think they will only do dongle calls on non time critical operations.
This will still provide a solid protection, without sacrificing any performance when needed.

@1991lespaul:
At a guess, so you can use a different power-amp (or multiples), or go direct to your desk/mixing board/pc
ps. Again a reminder, this is REALLY the wrong thread to be asking such intelligent questions......

dogod, I guarantee you that there have been more interristing questions and answers in this thread alone than the majority of other threads on KVR. There have been so many diverse topics discussed and replied by the likes of hink, sascha, squids, bearded, putte, cpt, etc...ps. Again a reminder, this is REALLY the wrong thread to be asking such intelligent questions......

Can be used for several things, also depending on the layout.1991lespaul wrote: What is the 1/4" line out on a tube head for?
- Driving additional poweramps.
- Running into a console. In that case you'll most likely need a cab simulation, but there's line outs with integrated cab sims. Some amps allow for switching of the speaker, so only the line out can be used. Careful, some don't (you'd need a power soak or so at the speaker out in that case)!
- Driving effect racks. Those will then be amplified with something else (another power amp with another speaker). Can be a kickass combo, running your amp all dry and the effects coming from a separate speaker. Had such a setup for a while.
- Driving effects #2. Soemtimes there's a line in as well. In that case you can use both as an FX loop. But normally (at least on all kinda newer amps), those FX loops are labelled as such.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Thanks Sascha, You really knoe your gear, both real and vst.
As far as latency and CPU usage goes, I think that AT2 will run high. It now has the 2 amps at once feature, same as GR2. I think this feature alone, while good, puts more stress on the CPU.

Please don't bash an internet thread. It is 100% worthless.Killvehicle wrote:A3ntar wrote:dogod, I guarantee you that there have been more interristing questions and answers in this thread alone than the majority of other threads on KVR. Please don't judge the quality of the thread based on what you alone contribute to it.Please tell me life as I know it, is not about how great "my thread" is. To hear you defend "your" thread is one of the most pathetic things I have seen in my life. ALll you did was say "At2 I bet you 5 smilies it doesnt get released" or something along those lines. HArdly groundbreaking. I dont care if it hits 500 pages, pls don't defend an internet thread. It is 100% worthless.
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

Please don't needle an internet thread poster. It is 100% pointless. Just the same, wearing a thimble would be a good idea... in case a point happens to turn up.

Killvehicle, you sir are a moron. I wasn't defending 'my thread', I was defending other's people posts, out of respect for everyone that did participate in it.Please tell me life as I know it, is not about how great "my thread" is. Btw killbill, thanks for contributing to get us all to 250 pages, I know that secretly, you are an 'Amplitube 2 supposed to be released this month!!!' worshiper.
