I really can't be bothered reading back the 200 or so pages to catch up  so can someone please bring me up to speed or was it always as some thought... vapourware?

Eitherway Midiworks is obviously a sadist!
I don't want to spread nasty rumours but I think his MP3's were actually done using a Crate Bloo VooDoo! :o
How else could they be so perfect??

It's a longtime sinece I read this thread.

What's the status, is there a private BETA released (which means that we are close to the final release) ?

I hope that it's planned for 2007 :hihi:.

Post

No, its release is still planned for 2004.

I have to be honest; the countdown is suspended.
I wish I could go on, I want that AmpSim!

Which amp sim?

On a serious note, we all know it, but anyways: Since this thread started, AT2, GR2, GTR and RV2 were released, all of them doing a more or less great job (some deliver authentic sounds, others are more suitable for the experimental side of things). In addition, there's free things, such as the nice FreeAmpSE and whatever.
Playing "catch up" with all of them is simply impossible. But that's exactly what René is trying to do - or has been, at least.
So, what do you really expect to happen? This amp being released? Come on - I mean, even *if* it is in a somewhat releasable state already, it'd have to beat all the others out there. Which, among a whole lot of other things, would mean it'd have to be x-platform compatible. But the last thing we saw was XmasAmp, some SE mockup - probably slapped together in a rather clever way, but in no way even remotely a competitive product.
Also, would you really put your money into a product that needed 3 years from "almost ready" to release stage? What if there were bugs? Another 3 years of waiting for them to be adressed?

In the end, we all know by now that this amp is a myth, nothing else.

So -- You know how when you're at the Forum index page and click on 'Your Posts', it brings up a list with threads at the top that have had replies since you last checked? With the little slabby icon-thing being being golden?

How do I get it to quit tracking certain threads that I may been foolish enough to post in?

Because I think I'm getting more stupid every time I look at this one, and I need to stop, but I can't seem to resist clicking on the golden slabby icon-thing and reading stuff that hurts my brain....

It's not about you guys posting. It's just the whole thread....
