The sad thing being that René, who's not a bad person per se, must really feel like a loser. Hopefully he'll learn for his next endeavours, which hopefully won't have to do with plugin development.

I don't know why he doesn't just release and sell those perfectly good vocal doubler plugins he's sitting on. (I think I asked this back on p.63, actually....)

I like his Drum Placement VST's, these are really good, and quite usefull.
The work, and they are released.
I really like those.
The sad thing is, they were intended to be part of the ampsim... So all we got is bits and pieces of it, but not the real deal.
And I do believe it could have been huge!

Really? http://www.soundspectral.com takes you to that amp sim image, which takes you to the soundclick page. His plugs aren't listed nor advertised, he only drops in once in a while, in doubler threads, and posts links to the page with the demos, or maybe I'm missing something.MrM wrote:I like his Drum Placement VST's, these are really good, and quite usefull.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Look for the 'Drum Mic Positioner' about 2/3 down this page:

And the other one at this page:

If you can't download them, PM me and I'll email them.

No, no - not the drum mic positioner; he made a couple of vocal effects, DuoX and ChoirX (I think?). He'll post them from time to time, then revoke them, for indecipherable reasons. Fully his right to do so, but just kind of odd for a developer, and the plugins were quite good, actually.

I agree that some of Renés ideas where quite good indeed.
It just seems that he doesn't have the guts it takes to do a fullblown amp simulation - especially after his rather exaggerating predictions of this thing to be the next best thing since sliced bread, easily blowing all the competition away. That was a perfect shoot into his own feet. And one that probably will never heal again.
