The reason why i was focusing on channel aftertouch, and not key, was becuase i don't know how easy it would be to implement the latter from a GUI point of view... since you have a stream of controller data for each note, it might get cluttered/confusing pretty quickly. i'm not quite sure what other hosts do, maybe its color coded or something. In any case, more work for the developers. Channel aftertouch however, should just be like any other simple CC.
Improved Input Routing view and operation combining previous old and new views
I would hate to lose the draggable inputs - its so simple, and such a cool thing to show off to people who haven't seen T before ;)

From Beno's post on the first page:
Enhanced Loop Support - Acid, Apple and REX loops with searchable Loop Browser, Auto-adjust loops to pitch, tempo, and time signature changes using new Global Track and new Pitch Shift/Time Stretch Algorithm, loopable MIDI clips, Create searchable loops directly from Tracktion, New File Browser to search drive contents from with Tracktion

BTW, I used to want count-in for loops, until I realized that unless I started a few beats ahead, the first note would get cut off if I was slightly ahead of the beat. SO now I just loop from 1 bar before I want to record, until 1 bar after...this way I get a count-in, plus enough time to take a breath between takes, and not cut-off any notes at the beginning or end as well...

I do the same thing, but I would like still like the count in....

Did anyone mention a fix for the first note getting cut-off at times, besides freezing the track?

Hi Ben

I just wondered whether you could tell me whether the "Marker enhancements" will include soft idents, or index markers for marking the beginning and end of tracks in readiness for burning to CD or exporting as an image file.

With dither and mastering effectively already incorporated I can see that we are not one giant leap away from being able to produce a master CD straight out of T.

Ben - thanks for replying to my earlier question on this, but does "smart loading of presets for existing plugins" mean that once you've set up presets for a particular plugin, that there is, in some way, the ability to associate a preset for a controller with a particular plugin within T? So that when you open a plugin the preset template associated with it opens too? Can these presets be accessed through the edit window?

Apologies for all the questions Beno.

Wow, just saw this. Nice one.

One question, could you not highlight every 4 bars on the bars/measure. On the pic its highlighting 11 when highlighting the 16th bar would be more logical, this really pisses me off in t2 and was hoping it would fixed in t3. Its a simple thing and I cant understand why it is the way it is.

bush, I understand where you are coming from, but I think it's just a preference thing. Maybe just an option to change it would be the right thing?

Many people think it tens, it's just easy to count. It's not very musical in theory, as you are saying. But it's not unlogical necessarily, just a different way of thinking. Highlight every ten bars, and count between them to find the measure you want, which is easier in longer songs, IMO.

But like I said, maybe an option to change to the way you want?

No.

Not as you described. At this points, the presets still have to be manually loaded but that action is very easy as tracktion automatically picks the appropriate plug-in to map it to. But what you are asking for is already somewhat possible in T2.1 using the custom control surfaces and the Filter>Automatable Parameters target parameter. This way you can have the first n parameters of the selected plug-in automatically map to a set of controls on your control surface. If you need help getting that configured, I'd suggest starting a new thread.

It would be nice if major/minor bar display could be fully configurable, but because of the adaptive nature of Tracktion's GUI, that might be difficult to implement. Or maybe not. But it doesn't seem to be a high priority feature ATM.

Excellent!

Folder tracks and Collection clips are important additions that will make my T-experience a better one. Looking forward to the upgrade!

I didn't know about that one actually. Does that mean that I can use something like Behringer Nano Control for plugin editing? So that if I activate for example an EQ plugin it will automatically map to the controls of the Nano? If that's the case then it's awesome. It solves my issues with having a large controller at home.
Though, I'm not sure if automatical mapping sounds that nice. Usually, automaps doesn't set things up in the best ways.
