The 3 patches used in the Rock On distortion guitar demo were the following:

Wild West Steel (in the guitar dir)
Modulated Wah (in the leads dir)
7th Wah Wah (in the leads dir) This one is the kinda lead solo played.

The bas used was Roto Sound Bass which also had a trip thru amp sim.

Using amp sim on these pathces will enhance the reverb coming from internal zebra quite drastic and thats what gives the harsh expanded reverb sound. Once the basic sound is made you can add echo or another reverb.

Typical complex setup:

Modulated Wah --> EQ to find the sweet spots in the amp --> Amp sim --> Echo or spring reverb --> limiter

Typical easy setup:

Modulated Wah --> Amp sim --> Ambient guitar room

and on top of that sloppy play style ;)

Thats it for now, going to try out some amp sims this week.

Well, I just saw the email this morning (in my time zone), and I just want to add my thanks for your generosity to the v1 owners. That was a very pleasant surprise.

Yes, I'll say it in public as well as in e-mail: you guys are something else!

Echoing rsmus7: boogex and FreeAmp are especially good.

Didnt take me long to see that Free Amp 2 was pretty nice for a freebie. While Boogex is more clinic i felt that Free Amp 2 had all the fun stuff. Now i'm NOT a guitar player, but i do play the guitar and have owned several of them and i would say that Free Amp 2 would be all i needed for a amp sim for arrangements. I dont pay much attention to the tiny details i just go for the overall sound, does it fit or does it not fit the arrangement. So in short, had i had my hands on Free Amp 2 when i made the Rock On demo track then i would have used it.

Just one little tiny detail, i felt that some of the low mids dynamic was lost when using Free Amp 2 but i reckon i could EQ myself out of that problem. As long as the cabinet type and distortion model is there its a question about the final EQ, at least in my book ;)

Free Amp 2 comes with a butt load of presets and i enjoyed hearing the Wild West Steel guitar run thru it.

So those of you who dont have this nice freebie should go pick it up, just incase you wanted to experiment with Zebra as the sound source for guitar distortion emulation.

Having won Oldskool #1 in the previous contest, am I eligible for a free version of Oldskool #2?
I would perfectly understand if the answer is a "no". Just wanted to know, nothing else.

Ooops, you *are*

Thing is, I only used ShareIt and PayPal sales to build up my database...

Expect mail... now...

Sorry...

Thanks Urs! No need to be sorry, I didn't expect anything, really - just asking.
Nevertheless, I'll be loading them in a bit, quite excited already!

Cheers and thanks again!

Is it just me, or is it FL7? When I load MK2 Viral Sweeper ARP, I get redlined (99%+ CPU utilization; at 2000MB of memory!), no sounds, and essentially a freeze. All the other ARPs are working fine. Doesn't make any difference what the volume settings are, either.

And your using Zebra version ?

On VCF 1 and 3 disable the MSEG 1 modulation and see what happens.

On my system that patch amount to roughly 10% CPU use when playing it. Cubase SX, T2500 2Ghz, 1 GB Ram

No problem here. AMD2000, 1gb, FLS7.02
Intel Core i7 8700K, 16gb, Windows 10 Pro, Focusrite Scarlet 6i6

Zebra 2.1. Should I move up?

The MSEG1 disable idea worked perfectly. Thanks!

[But now you should tell me the theoretical reason, maybe? I encountered this with the SEQ GM bass arps too....]

Ah, another clue: I'm on FL 7.0.0. Time to upgrade, I guess.
