I know you asked boimb, but since I uploaded some Zebrify patches I thought I'd upload my own Bazille self-modulating sequencer patches at my general patches page.ludwig wrote:Can you upladed the patch for this self-modulation sequencer trick?

This sounds like (some) "reality show" draft proposals I've read, but with greater potential than many.autodafe wrote:

It has been a while since I last stopped by KVR. After seeing a notice on this somewhere else I had to stop by and express my excitement. Cannot wait until this comes out. If Urs programs it I don't have to listen to a clip before buying.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I hope you have seen this post:
it means... you can already download the alpha...Urs wrote:ARRRGH. Why? Why with the power of the Death Star does everyone need to play with super alpha software before it matures?!?
Here are some cleverly obscured links:
Mac: http://www.u-he.com/Bazille01Mac.component.zip (AU only, DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY ON POWERPC)
Win: http://www.u-he.com/Bazille01Win.zip (put Bazille.dll and Bazille.data in Vstplugins)
- do not post lengthy bug reports, the beta team does a great job
- I do not want to hear about crashes, seriously
- no, it doesn't have a file browser and it might crash when using a host environment
- yes, patches may sound different in the final version
- no, you shouldn't sell yor CZ-101 just yet
- I will not answer questions related to usage aka How Does One Do This Or That...
- and yes, it'll expire at some point...

hey urs and folks
finally getting a chance to mess with this, been putting it into a sketch project...
first:
thanks for sharing urs
i understand that this is only 1 part of your berlin modular (is that right?)but i have to say i am blown away by what i am achieving with this, it easily stands alone...
i like the very tight control one can achieve, the excellent modulation control, and choice of modules, means there are no fuzzy edges here and i can "see" the shape and colour of the sound clearly in the mix...
this is exactly the kind of synth i have been looking for (i have even considered DIY modulars, but i don't have time/cash these days) and i'm looking forward to it's release...
i've mentioned your "sound" before, but i'm starting to appreciate that a lot of my reservations are due to the consistency through the frequency range you achieve...
questions...
what else is planned for the berlin modular?
if bazille is going to be standalone, what improvements/other modules do you have in mind?
i see you have space for FX, will these be patchable into the modular?
what sort of price range are we looking at?
are you closer to guessing a release date?
are you going to release further alpha/beta versions?
thanks again urs
i can't find another project i want to buy into
this is the shit mate

Thanks Dave!
All systems will probably be "stand alone plug-ins" (weird word), but I also have the idea of a combined system.
The effects will just be there, at the end of the chain (just normal fx, no patching back into the modular). The "Expansion" slot is rather interesting. I've planned to add modules in there that can be patched back and forth with the architecture. I'm thinking of allpass filters, waveshapers, more oscillators, more filters, and maybe even complex modulators. There'll only be one expansion per system (maybe two), as these will considerably add to the cpu hunger of the whole thing.
Release date: Not before April '10
Further alphas will be provided, but at some point switch to demo mode. They'll then be on sale as for the u-he typical "preview offer" (usually 30-50% off). There will always be a working alpha/beta available.
I think the price tag will be the same as for Zebra. If however the US Dollar stays as weak as it is now, I might have to consider a 20-25% price jump. 1€ = 1.20$ is doable, but 1€ = 1.50$ really hurts over time...
Urs
Other plans are merely on the analogue side of things, with one system tending towards a very classic design and one system tending towards a "vicious" design. Other systems may the be either variations or add some digital gems such as rompling.dave dove wrote:what else is planned for the berlin modular?

Hey Urs, Thanks so much for the the Alpha of Bazille its really wonderful. Ive been trying to get sounds like these out of a computer for years and now its so simple. Question, will you consider giving us the option of setting a realtime and render oversampling amount like the synth squad synths have ? Something like 2x to 32x.

Hi Urs, thank very much for this wonderful Alpha.
I've a lot of fun when i play it in Numerology: Bazille seem perfect to interact with Numerology.

I don't know if that's really necessary. I might add it as a general option for all plugins (and only for offline rendering), but it'll then only work in hosts that notify the plugin about the rendering status. This would be something for a .x update then... I guess...rouge wrote:Question, will you consider giving us the option of setting a realtime and render oversampling amount like the synth squad synths have ? Something like 2x to 32x.

so did you make a decision about whether or not there will eventually be an offer for a mini-modular for purchase as a teaser? No hurry, just wondering if I should start putting away some pennies

Just putting all my energy in fixing some bugs that affect Zebra (and Uhbik-X and Bazille), and I have to yet add some more modifications to Zebra 2.5 before it can go public beta.
Cheers,

Awesome. I'm really starting to see what you meant by "everything affects everything else" too! I had almost forgotten about uhbik-x, the singles are more than keeping me busy effects wise.Urs wrote:Yeah, I think I'll do itMitchK1989 wrote:so did you make a decision about whether or not there will eventually be an offer for a mini-modular for purchase as a teaser?
