^^^^ That kind of routing is pretty much the same in Reaper, too, except rack = track.

Thanks for the Reaper project file.mehum wrote: Project file:
The track containing the IVGI plugin reports a PDC of 192 samples, while the doc points out that the plugin has 7 samples latency. Is this ok? I think I don't understand all this PDC stuff.

Ha, no idea!
Have fun with the project, it's not very structured
And I hope I didn't include any profanities in the track names
EDIT: Checked it out now, mine shows PDC 256, same as my buffer size, incidently...

@Actioncat: Lol, you are not the only one who tries Mulab now. Well I tried to edit my track in the meantime and it seems that everything works what I need. Some things are a bit more comfortably in Cubase (the midi key editor and the midi drum editor as well as automation), but I can get use to the way Mulab handles this things I guess. At least I could quickly find out how this all works in Mulab and for the moment this is the most important thing for me.
Concerning Reaper and routing: Thanks EvilDragon and Mehum for the info. I will give it a try too, but later. At the moment I`m just focused on finishing my track and to deal with Mulab first.
@Mehum: It`s crazy what effort you made for finishing this track *ugh*. Mine will be more simple *lol*. I`m sad to hear that you won`t comment on soundcloud this month. I will anyway pm you for getting feedback to my track, but your comments had been intresting for everybody not only for the person whose track you commented. Good luck

Hello Everyone. Here's the latest track from DoctorBob.
This track has overtones of an earlier track about Philae. This one is more "up beat" about its fate!
The synth player from the last 2 rounds has been well and truly slapped and told he must turn up and only play chords - he's now just the "pad man". The drummer was released from his duties too and given a synth kick and hat drum pads to hit! The funky piano player from OSC74 was given some new synths and told to play nice melodies which everyone at the OSC will like
DAW: REAPER
16 Instances of PG-8X
Track FX:
17 * ReaEQ
2 * ReaComp
2 * ReaVerb
1 * Classic Compressor
3 * LFX-1310 (autopan)
1 * epicVerb
2 * Twin Delay
3 * TAL Reverb II
Master FX:
BootEQMKII
Ferric TDS
Limiter No. 6
DR: 8
I hope you enjoy this little ditty.

Well the sh*t happened again. This time it is no muting or stuttering it is more a hanging
Oh my god I swear I get mad. My performance test run so well because I didn`t use the original presets I actually used for my track. I simply choose any presets, that was a mistake.
Now after I reconstructed my whole original project in Mulab as it really is with all original adjustements and patches I selected, actually the sh*t happened again.
I found out that my patch "PAD Bass Chorus" is a real CPU eater and so I changed it. It is a bit better now because the hanging just happens 5 seconds later, wow what a progress. Okay I have learnt something from this lesson and it is: Care about what adjustements you use while creating patches, because there are some which will need more CPU than others. Beginner mistake I guess. What sounds good, uses more CPU. Okay I got it but what to do now??? Changing all my patches?? Checking out if Richard Semper and Drew Dale had been more wise and using their patches? Giving up, buying the next DAW? Jumping out of the window????
I don`t know, but for today my motivation is at minus 1000 and I didn`t make progress with my track so far because I was just busy again in solving problems. Finding out how this midi editor works, trying rendering, changing my CPU greedy patches and so on. This really sucks!!!
Next trial: Switch to my laptop again, but if the story repeats there then I`m really at the end.
I`ll keep you updated. "News from OSC hell" to be continued, don`t miss the next episode, tomorrow exclusive on OSC news channel *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*.
Cheers
Yvonne

Uh, Ah, hanging, hahaha.... as long as it's no blue screen, you're good, haha!

But, just in case, try switching audio drivers from asio4all to MME, which may be slower, but it would be just a test, you know. I just don't trust asio anymore. If it takes too much CPU power, it really won't help, of course.
However, I'm so sure that your composition is very much worth it to offer your laptop's power for!
I just hooked up my Cintiq Companion to a proper monitor, which turns it really into a regular computer and it's totally awesome. Man, how I love my setup right now! Soooo hyper geeky, too!

Now if only I will get used to my new hammer mechanics keyboard...uh what great times will lay ahead!

Very smart track Doc as this synth doesn't do drums that well. I was still tapping my foot through the whole thing. Loved the rhythm.doctorbob wrote:Hello Everyone. Here's the latest track from DoctorBob.

Also like the FX you used. All 3rd party or did some come with your DAW? I am familiar with these two.

The rest, not so much.
Very well done and really nice to listen to.
If I had to make any criticisms I would have probably liked more stereo spread on some of the tracks. Listening with headphones, it had a kind of monoish vibe to it. Was that done purposely because of the inherent nature of the synth?

I`m glad that my emotional outburst is amusing you at least (Taron wrote:Uh, Ah, hanging, hahaha.... as long as it's no blue screen, you're good, haha!![]()
Hm, bluescreen would be consequent at least and a final end of my suffering.
Sounds good but what exactly is MME and where can I get it? Link?Taron wrote: But, just in case, try switching audio drivers from asio4all to MME, which may be slower, but it would be just a test, you know. I just don't trust asio anymore. I switched to my laptop in the meantime. I couldn`t have go sleeping without trying this option at least and it works. Halleluja!!!!
This bar which shows the CPU usage is only a quarter full on my laptop while it was completely full (and red at the end) on my pc. This probably means there is some space for go on working
If I listen to you I could assume that producing music is fun...Taron wrote: I just hooked up my Cintiq Companion to a proper monitor, which turns it really into a regular computer and it's totally awesome. Man, how I love my setup right now! Soooo hyper geeky, too!![]()

@Doctorbob: You know that I´m your greatest fan, but as you see I am pretty busy at the moment. I will listen your track as soon as I could make at least any progress with my own track which is hopefully finaly tomorrow.
Cheers

No, just if you want to vote without participating. My first KVR post ever was my February OSC track.lazarwoolf wrote:I have to have 40 posts by june 1st.... how will I accomplish this?

I did have more "stereo" at one time, but in the end I decided to spread the reverb to the sides and keep the dry instrument nearer the centre (not all *exactly* centre mind you). I might experiment a little - thanks.wagtunes wrote:doctorbob wrote:

Anything "Rea" is a stock REAPER plugin - very good sonically. epicVerb has a nice plate emulation, TAL reverbs are nice, and give good control over the spread. Twin delay of course is pretty much a goto for me as a delay (I just get on with it OK!). Classic Comp is by Kjaerhus Audio.
LFX-1310 is here: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/lfx-1310-by-luxonix
But I only use the simple autopan from this "rack" of FX. Does the job for me.
I decided to use the Tape Sim (Ferric) to add in some of the old analogue recording "warmth" - switching it in and out makes a big difference, to my liking, so that's why it's there!
Thanks for the kind comments and glad you enjoyed it!
