$19 "account deal" on Model 82 right now until Feb 13th! This soft-synth is worth 19 bucks, right?

Only of you think you will use a simple synth like this…I got it on a previous sale and only realsed when this sale popped up that I have never used it…so is it cheap?

Yeah, I passed and I love the Roland filter modeled in this.

I've passed it up in the...er...past, but I just now contacted Softube to obtain a demo time-period refresh so I can review it again.

I've passed it up in the...er...past, but I just now contacted Softube to obtain a demo time-period refresh so I can review it again. I'm a 90+% hardware dude, so if I can swing a $19 (and convincing) version of the SH-101 instead of $1500, then it may be some at least some value to me, haha!

Well, it's definitely quite a limited synth, but, I remember the fun I had with TAL-Bassline, back in the day. If I can get an equal amount of fun out of this, it's already worth the 19 €. The thing definitely sounds great (as expected with the Softube stuff).

As a side effect, I now completed my "Model" synth collection. I haven't decided yet in which virtual corner I will exhibit it.

IMO yes. they did not add much compared to the orginal for authencity's sake (in terms of features). Not sure how I feel about that but I know how I feel about the sound of this thing. It sounds great!

That's where this falls down a bit. The filter needs a linear FM input.

Yes, while I do like linear FM on filters for audio rate filter mod and pitch modulation when using the filter as an oscillator, that was an "I should have gone to bed an hour earlier mental fart" where I was confusing the 82 filter with the 84 filter and it's lack of resonance modulation.

Given that they're essentially the same filter, if you have Softube's modular, I would say that this is worth $19. I'm still not going to buy it, I just don't use dedicated software modular that way and have no need for an SH-101 clone.

Probably not for 19 €, but, they have sales for all of them sometimes.

It has also the higher regular price. Model 82 was 99 € from the beginning.

For this price I'm tempted to buy it a second time. But in a different colour of course.
