No, not kidding. Since you don't have Komplete Care 2005 you're apparently in luck. I have KC2005 and thus GR2 and EP is all I would get. But I already have GR in addition to K2+KC2005, and I also have Amplitube 1.Len wrote:Are you kidding?Peanuts must be really expensive where you live...for me the K2->K3 upgrade is pushing me towards ditching K2 and moving towards AT2Upgrade from K2 to K3 is only Eur 299, while Amp2 is (special introductory price of) Eur329 or upgrade of Eur199!!! K3 will give me Battery 2, Kontakt 2, Reaktor 5, GR2, Elektrik Piano - need I say more
And remember you're not getting the Rig Kontrol...

bah, one of the reasons I have avoided Komplete and KC is that it's like doing differential equations trying to figure out wtf you need to do to stay current.
So, let me get this straight if you bought K2005 and KC2005 you have to upgrade both instead of just upgrading to KC2006? Why wouldn't you just get whatever the next Kompletexxx? I HATE THOSE PACKAGES hehehehe

Sorry for the double post,
but I want you to read and hear this.
You should have seen my girlfriends face...

When I saw that picture, I thought,
what does THIS has to do with response and dynamics...
NOTHING !
Just another point on the AT2 "hype" list.
Listen here:
http://www.soundspectral.com/Soundspect ... e_demo.mp3
maybe...
Listen to how it should sound, when you turn your
guitar volume knob up/down.
http://www.soundspectral.com/Soundspect ... e_demo.mp3
The amp settings remained the same, all the time !
All is done using the volume knob and the playing.
More amp demos here:

Oh sorry, thats the Soundspectral-Midiworks amp sim !
(it had to be said...)
These demos are NOT ! AT2 or GR2 !!!
but I want you to read and hear this.
I had a really good laugh here !!!A3ntar wrote:Very interristing considering that the DSM technology overview sais the following:loophead wrote:I asked the player to hit some stuff while I turned down his volume pot. 'Lets hear how dynamic this is.' I mean thats the whole point right. So what do I hear ? Zero dynamics.
"For example, in the real-world, all analog circuits behave differently according to the level of the signal they are driven (i.e. when driven by a signal ramp), but traditional emulation of analog circuits so far have not been capable to accurately adapt to these various conditions."
"Traditional emulation results in a distorted signal with artifacts even at low level (A), because of the limitation of current technology which is not able to dynamically adapt to the various circuitry status. On the contrary DSM emulation at low level of circuit driving is able to dynamically adapts and reproduce the signal with the same behaviour a real analog circuit would do and therefore without introducing any noticeable artifacts."

No, first you pay, than "maybe" one day, in an future update...A3ntar wrote:Weird...because if the DSM emulation engine is not yet fully complete then they have some serious time ahead...Loophead wrote:"Whats up ?" I ask. "Well that bit of the code has not been implemented yet" he tells me .... !
Its a BAD, BAD thing !!!A3ntar wrote:Hmm...Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Somehow i am confused with this statement.loophead wrote:As I change the volume the sound remains exactly the same timber

I went to AES for few hours with an enginneer from my job (I work at a radio station so it was free
). Anway we split up and I was on a mission to check out a few things...
Basically I got to Play with AT2 for a while (their hired guitarist was on lunch so IK just handed me an SG and said 'go ahead'). Have to say I was impressed with it overall. Without getting too techical, I just thought there were less artifacts, particularly when I played with strong attack and started banging out funk riffs in the higher registers - it held together. Some of the pedals in AT2 sounded really lush too like the chorus and phaser. Hard to really tell in this environment but Waves GTR had some nice vintage sounds (wish they would have let me demo it) but I asked the guy to bang out some funk riffs and the artifacts were there (he was quickly trying to adjust the settings) and with GR2 I noticed them right off the bat. If it has to do with the signal chain Waves has their own DI so there is no excuse there. Not sure what NI was running through but GR2 did not sound convincingly real. Waves sounded pretty realistic for some vintage stuff. To my suprise I thought AT2 sounded the best if you weren't looking for a 'vintage' sound.
I believe signal chain has a lot to do with it so maybe at home it will be different. AT2 was running through an edirol firewire device into a onyx mixer. From what I know those are nice preamps, maybe ideal for this purpose!

Good save andrew!
Midiworks, you are trying too hard to put down that AT2 product man. Chillax
So far we have 2 independant persons that liked AT2 over GR2 and WGTR. I see that as a sign of a good product.
The release date now is athough Mid Novembre...LOL. THIS is the real joke!
I win my bet

I don't know, I listened to the trailer as well as GR2, still it seems there are no amp sims that do the following:
1) Mesa Rectifier
2) Fender Tonemaster
3) Groove Tubes with 6L6 American Coke Bottle Tubes.
They all sound the same so far, amp sims I mean. I mean even the Guitar Port is the same and sounds good for the price, although it's for the computer only......but really, nothing sounds like the above three yet. Will Amplitude 2? I don't know. No demos (mp3) yet.
Just my opinon. Also, the Waves GTR doesn't sound like it has any Vox, Mesa, Tonemaster sounds, not sure about you guys, but if you have ever heard a Fender Tonemaster, it is sweet low, crisp, and CRUNCHY rock old Marshall sounding when cranked......point to point wiring.
Then of course there is the Rectifier sound......and Groove Tubes is sort of like a Clean fender with a little more High sparkle (depending on the tubes), best tubes you can get though (although haven't been made for 20 years) are American made Coke Bottle 6L6, nice fat, round and crunchy......awsome sounding.
