Ok, I see that I could potentially include alias clips in my workflow. Thank you guys/girls.
I have another question. Is the mouse interaction better then before? I mean, do you still have to be ultraprecise when grabbing clip/note/track borders?

Definitely improved, and could be improved further...stamp wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:57 pm Ok, I see that I could potentially include alias clips in my workflow. Thank you guys/girls.

For example, the bottom half of clips used to be time selection which was finicky. Now that is gone (with user option for the old behavior). New way is more relaxed.

I see. I prefer old behavior so I don't have to switch too often to time selection tool. And luckily there's still the option to revert to old way.pdxindy wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 6:11 pmDefinitely improved, and could be improved further...stamp wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:57 pm Ok, I see that I could potentially include alias clips in my workflow. And what about the precision required for grabbing clip/note/track borders, automation points etc. Do you still need to be ultraprecise?

You will get it whenever it will be final. If a beta gets released during your upgrade plan you will get final release even if your upgrade plan ends before final release.krixa wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 9:53 pm My update plan dies October 27. Hope it releases before that..

I don't normally try a first release beta, but I finally did today. No noticeable issues, though I didn't dig too deep.
Gotta say I think the changes are fantastic. Just navigating around, adding and editing clips, moving and editing notes, the whole experience is the same but much more slick. The UI feels smoother and more responsive, and I wonder if only now the real improvements from their previous UI work has kicked in. Either way very nice.
I noticed at least a couple of things I thought were great touches:
--When clicking to get a new automation lane, you don't just get the last control you moved, you get a list of the last few controls you used
--Automation lanes seem named well and can be made quite compact while still showing useful info
--EQ+ now shows options for points so you can quick select an hpf or low shelf
Generally seemed very slick, easier to use and better at staying out of the way. I think I'll be using this for capturing ideas from now, or at least I'll be digging into to the beta more.
Great work Bitwig Devs.
Two small things, it seemed tricky to add a local FX track into a group with one channel (but was easy to drag it to the right place), and I would love a right click option to choose the tool - the icons on the right are a good idea, but too far for me to move a mouse to and from.

^^^ "right click option", I guess this is because of the touchscreen, the current version runs fine on all the platforms, but +1

So... I presume nothing has changed regarding this.stamp wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:57 pm I have another question. Is the mouse interaction better then before? I mean, do you still have to be ultraprecise when grabbing clip/note/track borders?
