Around these parts "stop buying junk" in this context just means stop buying stuff you don't need, not that the product is junk.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 2:44 pm I am sure he did not mean it literally and I definitely did not agree to the "junk" part.
IK Multimedia content is high-quality and sounds awesome.Installation of sound content is a pain though, which I am experiencing right now.

The installation of SampleTank is quite confusing. I can't fully install it now on my laptop as a don't have the space but there are so many parts and I'm not sure in what order to go. Syntronik was quite easy though!LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 2:44 pmI am sure he did not mean it literally and I definitely did not agree to the "junk" part.telecode wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 1:55 pmI don't think SampleTank or IKM make junk. Its a decent deal if you don't have legacy synths and aren't invested already in a similar software ecosystem.VitaminD wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 3:29 amYou answered it already. I really don't need anymore synths (haven't even installed Syntronik), but this deal is pretty tempting - adding 5 new synths and 500+ presets. The audio demos sound really good though. I wonder if it is worth grabbing it mainly for this no-brainer price, or is Syntronik Max around the corner?

The Sampletank content goes into different subfolders under a root folder - it doesn't really matter what order it goes in, just as long as it installs below that root folder, which it should do automatically once the first one is in place (it remembers the location using the registry or a preference file, depending whether its Windows or OS X).
It will install to an external drive.

Regarding IKM installation, I downloaded all the zip files I wanted and unzipped them. Now, going through the installation one by one. Installing the sound content to a drive partition of the same drive, but as Gamma-UT said, it indeed remembers the location, so the installation is not clumsy as such, but lengthy. Hopefully an installation manager, like Native Access, will solve the problems and make it easier for everyone.

Actually, I got it with the Total Max Bundle. I downloaded the sounds because you lose them after 180 days or something like that. Not sure if I will install it. I wouldn't mind a string machine. But I don't need any more synths at the moment. If I do install, it will go on an HDD. You do get a lot for the money though, if it is something you can use. I was going to say need, but most of us don't need anything more.

Completely agree with this. Compiled a list of all my pugin purchases over the last year to see that I spent over a 1000 on music related software. A lot of it I got for great prices however a lot of this stuff I can't use or resellLoveEnigma18 wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 9:13 amThanks for the awakening.VitaminD wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 3:29 amYou answered it already. If you have Excalibur or Phoenixverb you can crossgrade to R2 for 30€ on PB. Now the question is, should I or should I not?

I am going to buy an upgrade in the next day from artist to studio for presonus studio one - who is the cheapest? JRR and Audiodeluxe are much the same (audiodeluxe a few cents cheaper). Anyone else?

Try Best Service and Plugin Boutique also but the two you listed are hard to beat usually except for Every Plugin.fairlyclose wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:21 am I am going to buy an upgrade in the next day from artist to studio for presonus studio one - who is the cheapest? How much are you spending? You can get a second hand license for around $125-$150 quite often.fairlyclose wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:53 amthanks - I am really quite excited, been with Reaper for sooo longagharta wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:52 amTry Best Service and Plugin Boutique also but the two you listed are hard to beat usually except for Every Plugin.fairlyclose wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:21 am I am going to buy an upgrade in the next day from artist to studio for presonus studio one - who is the cheapest? I did. I had some virtual cash and got it for 17€. It's an absolute no-brainer if you want a lush/modulated reverb. R2 sounds fantastic.itanever wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 9:17 am If you have Excalibur or Phoenixverb you can crossgrade to R2 for 30€ on PB. Now the question is, should I or should I not?

Yes, I agree with you. It all add's up bit by bit. Thats why when I look at a sale on something like Cubase Pro, Ableton Live Suite, or Reason -- yeah, it's a big $ figure but you petty much get a fully fledged DAW, all the instruments and effects you will need.Vleker wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 12:09 amCompletely agree with this.
