i have studio 4.2. if i buy upgrade 3 to 4.2 grace period would work?

For Studio, price for upgrade from 3 to 5 is the same as upgrade from 4 to 5. For non-Studio, upgrades are the same price from any version.

We were discussing buying it from 3rd party sellers where the price is 66% off but only for Updates and not Upgrades.
Some sellers have pulled the updates from 3 to 4 already though.

i didn't ask for the other thing (since it wasn't applicable)

wish they offered v4 users a little more discount tho

Luck of the draw assuming that Audio Deluxe honour it; depends if they already have the keys.

support just said that retailers haven't updated their page yet - that the deal was available.
it's a gamble.

i'll probably wait for another sale, 149€ is a bit much.

At least they only have paid updates every 4 years or so.
It's just a matter of whether the new features are worth paying full price for or wait 6 to 12 months and save ~$100.

They usually have long running sales from Black Friday until December end. I would wait for Black Friday to upgrade (to Melodyne 5 Assistant).
JRR Shop is still showing v4, but as an indication they currently have a deal on Studio 3 to 4.2 for $49 so hopefully we'll get an upgrade offer similar to that if we wait long enough. There's nothing in the new version that leaps out as 'must upgrade now', thank GOG (he's the God of GAS).

Yes, that's a good point. I agree with you, there's nothing in the new to jump on right now. V4 to V5 Assistant is just $44 at EveryPlugin, which is a good price, but let's wait for Black Friday or something. GAS averted successfully.

The most I would ever get is Editor (if the upgrade price difference is small), but that too will be overkill for my use. Assistant is the perfect version for what I do. Happy with V4 for now.
