As far as that Mesa sound goes, I think the SansAmp PSA comes the closest to getting that real aggressive rectifier torque. Not one other amp sim I am currently familiar with does these Mesa sounds quite like the PSA.

Yeah well. That SansAmp is indeed rather high on my "to purchase soon" list. Small, convenient, no digital bullshit to mess around with (did I mention that I just had to replace the battery of my VAmp? All my presets lost... f**k them).kilroy wrote:You know...I'm beginning to think most of you lot would probably be just as happy with a SansAmp PSA-1.
Very responsive to dynamics, great sound, *great* analog preamp, no copy protection, straight forward interface, portable...plug in...dial a few knobs...and start feeling the luv.
Yeah, this is indeed rather scary.shamann wrote:So 24 pages of hype here, countless more on music sites all over the web, and the plugin isn't even finished yet?loophead wrote:"Well that bit of the code has not been implemented yet" he tells me .... !
I've been involved in a few beta tests, and it usually is a bad practice to implement a fundamental feature at the last minute without proper testing. "Hi testing team, I've rewritten the audio engine so that plugin no longer responds or sounds anything like it use to. Please try it out and get back to me ASAP, because I'd like to release it tomorrow."
Oi veh!
If that statement holds *any* truth it's nothing else but ridiculous. What else would a proper amp simulation be about but dynamic response to your playing?
I mean, this should've been one of the VERY first things to be implemented, not the VERY LAST.
It's just like "Oh well, you can test all of our new kickass 21976 OSC types VA synths features allready, but we're sorry, there's nothing but a sine wave OSC available so far".

.. there´s word that IK will announce Amplitube 3 at NAMM 2006, with the immediate availability right after musikmesse 2007 ..

You're sure? I thought they skip 3 and double everything, so that we have Amplitube 4 until Musikmesse 2009.putte wrote:.. there´s word that IK will announce Amplitube 3 at NAMM 2006, with the immediate availability right after musikmesse 2007 ..
O.k., enough of this.

Nah, what IK will do is simply announce Amp 3, and be the first developers in the world to go to a new version without ever releasing the last one! Of course, they could then announce Amp 4, 5 and 6 and so on from year to year without ever releasing any of it!!!!
Now that would be marketing genius at work!!!!!!

Yeah IK definately needs to work on improving their announcement to release date problem. Fxpansion learned from 1.5 of BFD. Deluxe wasn't officially announced until it was ready to ship, and that's a great way of doing business.
IK though, I have a few big issues with, one is upgrade pricing, the second is the dongle (though if the plug-ins are good enough and I don't have system problems, I'll prolly purchase the plug and deal), and the third is the crazy waits between announcement and release. If they sorted out two of three issues I'd have no reservations about the company at all, And notice sound quality isn't on that list, whereas before AES I was a little skeptical of AT2, now I'm a lot more confident it will be good.

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Thanks Midiworks for answering for me. A3ntar if you do not understand my statements (truly no offense) but your in the wrong field. The entire point of A3 is its supposed dynamics. When you change the volume from the instrument you alter level as well as impedence and a tube amps sound CHANGES. If this does not matter to you go buy Izotope Trash which is a far superior software sim to anything avaiable as of today. Its only lack is this particular issue.
Funny thing about IKMs ad concerning the 'dynamics' is it is an out and out lie as I built amp and distortion sims in the Eventide Orville/7000/7500/Eclipse and H8000 which all had this 'dynamic' capability...so IKM f'off and stop lieing in such a blatant manner !
As far as the dongle issue I was not only talking to the player but the IKM representative at the AES, so the dongle answer was from IKM. When I posted I was very explicit as I know you and others were desperate for real information.
Midiworks. What I hear from your work is quite exciting. Do not be a dope and be PC centric. Please port it over to the mac ASAP after it is done. I would be happy to chime in my support for your efforts.

Dude, I am in no field at all. I am just a simple giutarist looking for a good Amp simulator. It is really as simple as that. I am not pretending to be no expert on dymanics, impedence or sound changes. Thanks Midiworks for answering for me. A3ntar if you do not understand my statements (truly no offense) but your in the wrong field
You mean AT2? I don't know if that is the selling point of AT2, but this is the key point of DSM which AT2 is based on.The entire point of A3 is its supposed dynamics
Btw, you know I appreciated your comment and I was in no way trying to undermine what you were saying. When I said that "Somehow i am confused with this statement", I mean it in an honest and genuine way, not because of what you said, but because I didn't understand the full parameters of your discussion.
If somebody else went to the AES and have witnessed AT2 up close and personal then please do tell about it.
