Absolutely, I'll third that, whatever tattie decides is fine with me.wakkadude wrote:I have to second what Mac said; it really should be up to Tattie, as he is the one doing the counting and stuff.

OK, guys I've popped in from time to time to see whats goin on, but now I'm back on the case for real.
I'm gonna get the voting thread up in the next couple of hours. I dont really know at this point in time what to do about the voting system, as when I put the new enthusiasm for a more flexible system next to the previous support for a simplified system, it works out kinda equalish .... or 'eeksie-peeksie' as we say round there'ere parts!
So, I may have to take heart from hakeys 'anything tattie decides' comment and make an executive decision .... and prob go with the 10, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 proposal.... I just feel we need more time and input to get a feel for what most folks want, but I dont want to delay the voting thread any further.
However, the discussion doesn't have to end, there will be other comps, and if the concensus has changed, then we'll go with that change.
Anyway .... gotta go download those tracks and reup as a zip, write the voting thread, and then I can listen ... to what I'm led to believe is yet another cracking collection of tracks!

... Ah ... I wrote the above before I saw your post mrblitz000 .... Now its gonna take me a good 50 mins to get the tracks dowloaded zipped etc, and your post swings the balance slightly towards the 'share out the peanuts' system!
So it would be nice to hear from others who have not yet commented in the next hour ... it could make all the difference!

If ties are allowed and it doesn't get too complicated for you, then I'd go with the flexible voting system - in the previous comp it was actually an almost random choice when all I had left to give was 2 and 1 points, for example, and the two tracks I had selected were equally good to my ears...

OK mac, as you were one of those who previously supported the fixed voting system, thats like a double vote in favour of flexibility!
So, as things are taking a teensy bit longer than expected, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do while theres still time to say 'Noooooooooooooooo!'
As there are 27 tracks to choose from, and you cant vote for your own, I'm gonna give voters 26 votes to dish out.
10 points is the maximum amount you can give to any one track, and 10 is the maximum amount of tracks you can vote for.
Hows that?

I am in favor of the Flexible system! but, maybe its better to have less votes? hmmm actually i don't know if thats better, cant think of an convincing argumenttattiemannie wrote:As there are 27 tracks to choose from, and you cant vote for your own, I'm gonna give voters 26 votes to dish out.
well..
I gave it a some thought:with this many votes to distribute its still going to be hard to decide how much to give, ones you've decided which tracks you want to vote on. hmm, does that make sense? it's late!!!
