This happened to me as well. Contacted through email support. Turn around time between each message was 1-2 days. Eventually, they had to re-issue a new authorization number to me. All is well now and shows the current 8.5 version. Considering support communication was the reason I jumped from Steinberg a few years ago, I'm much more satisfied with this support here.mchannemann wrote:Hi FMR,
I downloaded the latest and installed it since last time and to no avail no difference, it still accepts the number and offers me to select the license to upgrade. I clicked on recover and it says succesful and then shows a 8.0 pro license

I only say this because my husband encountered something similar just yesterday: Did you try restarting your computer?

i also updated the elicenser software and rebooted first, though...just to cover all the bases.

But it's 99% fluff about price with little actual comparison.

In the end both are great DAWs. If you are already on a MAC it is a lot cheaper to own Logic. It has a few things that Cubase doesn't, and a lot of people prefer the interface. Cubase has a crap load more features. If any of those features matter to you, Cubase might be the better choice.
I guess the one irrelevant twaddle that it always comes back to is that Cubase doesn't come with a sampler, although GA SE is starting to be dang near as powerful.
