I had a go - see attachment. The percussiveness of this version kind of ruins the softness of the original as used at the beginning of "One of My Turns", but hey. I guess they tweaked the Prophet while recording that song.

I think all versions submitted to this thread so far have their "something" a person could like. I think Waltez Cruz did well catching the mood, the softness and the "percussiveness". Yet there's still this rich oscillation in the original recording I can't quite catch that sweet spot. It really makes things different.

I believe Rick Wright's Prophet-5 settings were once posted in some synth magazine, but I couldn't trace which one that was, unfortunately. Though I believe he used factory patches Sync1 and SyncII for Turns and RLH as a starting point.

Now just for fun. Repro-5 vs Arturia V3 vs OP-X Pro II.

Same midi file, first goes Howard's One Of My Terns B patch, 00:30 is Waltez Cruz mod, 00:58 is my mod of Walter's, 1:27 is Arturia Prophet Sync1 patch from "Original" bank, 1:55 is "Floyd Turns Prophet" patch from OP-X default bank.

Yes. Both. In RePro-1 only. The Prophet 5 didn't have an arp or sequencer. It was one of the design decisions early on not to include them here (at least at this stage).

After installing from the Linux tarball I still only have Repro-1 files on my system? I that correct? Doing ssh remote installation.. I only see this:

Repro-1.32.so
Repro-1.64.avx.so
Repro-1.64.so

I would expect to see Repro-5.??.so as well?

It's probably a fat binary containing both plugins.

There is an automation parameter on "Source" in the two mod matrix slots but "Destination" is missing. This is the same for the VST and AU.

Is this by design or did something go awry?

another odd thing found out: Switching through presets on Velvet, synth stops to play. Is this intended?

Yep, intended for now (it's Satin preset being loaded). We'll see if we can do it without a full reset.

The list of parameters often changes over time. Hence we don't make parameters which refer to other parameters automatable.

Ah, it's one of my favorite features in repro-1. When you holding many notes it plays arp between them. Missing that in Repro-5. I need to find some arp plugin that can do that. I tried outputting MIDI from Repro-1 to Repro-5 but it didn't worked.

I'll give it a shot. A little brighter than the examples you posted but adjust Cutoff to taste and adjust the Filter envelop to change both the Sync "blip" and Cutoff motion. Spent all of five minutes with it so maybe not close but might have "something" a person could like.

a slight bug in Ableton Live when mapping parameters onto Push encoders (in green Configure mode): clicking on the previous/next preset arrows (< >) random parameters show up for mapping.

Any chance of some MPE support?

It does MPE support (with VST2, not VST3) as well as the other U-he synths. So the pitchbend is there, and per voice pitchbends and whatnot, just no CC74 support (if you're on a Roli Rise), release velocity, or support for the master channel. If using a Rise, I bet you could reassign CC74 to CC1 using some kind of MIDI transformer and get back some of those benefits.

Yeah I have all that covered. What I really want the release velocity support. I don't get why there's so little support for it. I didn't even realize that the majority of the synths and controllers out there don't even use note off messages at all ,but use a note on with a velocity of zero, until I starting learning how to do Kontakt scripting. Even many midi monitors will show a note on message with a velocity value of 0 as a note off. Just bums me out. Release velocity makes for some very expressive playing.

That is actually as per MIDI specification. Since there is no way to press a key with zero velocity, that is considered a note off.

It's only the FX params that change maybe and you can only ever have one of each FX, or am I missing something?
