Hi Midiworks I'll record some Electro Acoustic
guitars later on - this afternoon.

zeoy wrote:Hi Midiworks, I can record a few SRV licks using either my Levinson Blade R1 or Tokai AST-56 (both single coil strat type, Blade has an active EQ option). If you are interrested I can upload them on Monday (I hope it's not too late). My record chain is gtr->M-audio audiobuddy->audiophile2496 (CRT monitor turned of :hihi: )
Hi zeoy,
sure that would be nice.
It is never too late ! ;)
Thanks !

I know who you are Sascha

That Tokai is abso-f***ing-lutely great. The only problem like all ... "good" Strats is that it's very sensitive to noise sources, that's why I turn the monitor off but that's not enough. I usually try to find the correct angle to minimize noise. Maybe I 'll have to turn the PC down too

BTW Sascha, if you have something to recommend about this noise issue I 'd be glad to hear it. I just don't want to loose its "bite" if you know what I mean

Great Dimitar !
Waiting for your takes, also the heavy ones. ;)
Nice Electro Acoustic btw !
Thanks a lot.

Ok, I am not Sascha :hihi: , but have you tried to fix a cable
on the bridge and then onto the jack input ?
For testing you can make that connection with your hand, if that helps fix a cable.
For Strats it usually helps a lot ! ;)

I am not Sascha  nor Midiworks
I 've done this already and yes it's helping but still this guitar is sensitive :( . Thanx anyway  Someone tolld me once that noiseless pickups and real Strat character dont go together

Well, zeoy, there's those Fender noiseless PUs which IMO are really, really close to the real deal (they're no fake single coil sized humbuckers or so).
And then, if you have a good luthier, you could also have some socalled dummy coil build in. They're just doing the same as a reverse wound, reverse polarity pickup (which you usually find in middle position these days) - cancelling out hum without affecting the sound. But you gotta have some space left in your guitar - usually it's placed somewhere between the others, hidden under the pickguard, but most of the times there's not enough space, so some woodwork is involved. From what I know that's the least sound effecting, yet most efficient solution.

Thanks for the Kinman pickups link. I'm always wary of manufacturers that have a lot of 'voodoo' without any sort of technical details; however, if you've tried them and they are indeed noiseless, I'd be into trying them out some day. ;)
