It's an unintuitive, tab-infested wankstain of a GUI designed to stop inspiration in it's tracks as you sit and wait for the page to load.
Fecking loathe it.
That's great, but tell us how you really feel

The clusterfuck of the browser tagging I dealt with via Omnitag; the edit-then-disappearing screen, probably Pro Tools fault.
But to go from a cheesegrater decade-old Mac Pro to a purpose-built PC and have exactly the same laggy, wading-through-treacle GUI experience = :x

No, the edit screen for tags is buggy as f**k here in Reaper too.

The UI in general could definitely benefit from a complete overhaul. It's weird, it's tedious to use and just plain buggy in many places (like the modulation matrix screen where the modulated values are sometimes all over the place).

In general I feel like Omnisphere is held together with duckt tape. It's always been quite buggy in my experience. You don't really notice it if you just play around with presets but as soon as you deep dive, you'll start encountering oddities.

I like it not being crowded. I like the tabs. I like the way you modulate. I like it all, it makes it Omni. DON'T CHANGE A THING. (except yes make it reliably snappier).

I too like the GUI and workflow. I would hate it if they make it into something like Pigments (which to me is terrible.. whilst I very much like Vital).

I read wankstain as wankstation, LOL! I've added a new word to my personal dictionary. It can apply to certain plugins and hardware alike, especially some modular setups.

Tab-infested wankstation conjures rather different imagery

When you open more tabs than any man really needs to get things done.

Not really in any connection to Omni.

In 2022 it was worth it.
but we're here in 2023 and im not so sure...

I'm no sound designer, it's simply not what I do.

Bought some 3rd party presets (Reverbmachines work for Ilio), this gave Omni another set of lives.

Most of original Omni presets are not geared towards what I need. But the ones that are, are too good to pass.

V2 has been expanded and evolved to a better product so v2 is still worth it in 2023 and 2024 and so on.

It is weird that people quickly see a synth as obsolete after a few years when it comes to digital Instruments and Praise Much Older and limited technology like the Holy grail (Analog).

Yes, there were times when arp did not sync properly, or drifted (in Logic :? - we dont use it anymore) and some compressor made HUGE peaks...

Not so much anymore thankfully. We usually use presets as starting point for the sounds and tinker with them (removing effects, adding layers etc.) and havent noticed anything for years now.

People who say they hate Omnisphere’s UI are people who have never learned how to right-click. I think the only time I’ve had to hit the manual (which is excellent) was in learning how the effect routing worked, which is pretty great. The absolute worst thing they could do is to make it some sort of tabless mess. I can put together a very complex patch in minutes and it just sounds great. You want a synth that’s a mess? Go use Zebra.

Bed has the best U/X, especially with high thread count pillow cases and sheets.
