Yeah it's truly impressive. The only thing that would be funnier would be if this were their official site, which I guess we shouldn't rule out.JerGoertz wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:20 pm "When it comes to death metal, there are few albums that can compare to the sheer brutality of Ultrakill. It's the DAC - German Alternative Chart. As I explained, it's the chart all the artists who have inspired us over the years have charted on. It's voted on by a group of industry professionals, like the Oscars, so it's more than a simple popularity contest. We also bounce around on the German "Native" album and singles charts, which are broad-based DJ charts and of less interest to us, although possibly a bigger achievement.BBFG# wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:45 pmHmm. I can't find your answer. If you think it's triggering, then you can message me. I'm not looking to be contentious here, so a direct answer is enough. Like I said, I'm just curious what the chart is.
Yeah, we relinquished our URL a few years ago and that popped up almost straight away on it. It's a weird site.stoopicus wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:18 amIt looks like they have been taken over by an AI that thinks they are death metal. https://www.novakill.com
What are you guys seeing? When I go there, I see what looks like a teenager's blog site offering really poor advice to wannabe musicians. It's got photos of Elvis and P. Diddy, explains who Bono is and basically looks as wholesome as Mom's Apple Pie. There's an article titled "10 Best Novakill Albums to Follow" which is all about one of our songs and one of our VSTi. There's also a review, of sorts, of our first album and both those articles feature photos of teenage girls sitting or lying on a bed, poring over vinyl records. It's all very strange but it's been up for 3 or 4 years now. AI wasn't even a thing the first time I saw it, but it seems obvious now that that is what it is. Maybe it was someone trying to get their AI to do better?Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:27 pmThat is truly odd. I'm going to assume no-one's daft enough to make a promo site for their band that is basically an automated splog. So I can only assume the AI has looked at the domain name, found some content about the band with the same name and created posts around it interspersed with other vaguely music-related material because that scores better on the old SEO.

Did you bother to contact them about any of it? I had issues getting my old individual purchases to show up in the new system but one email was all it took to get it sorted in a couple of days. It was hugely frustrating at the time but they sorted it our really quickly for me.tapper mike wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 5:18 pmI bought wavestation years and years ago using the old Korg user.net The DB was corrupted and it wouldn't transfer over. I got M1 as a buy in on a bluetooth controller. Registered it loved it. same story no longer in any db anywhere. I got Triton and Triton Extreme via Korg Pass. Those two I was able to resurrect on the new computer, and then needed to go through the process of getting the korg pass system in order to access them after a windows update.
Please tell us which ones because, as far as my ears are concerned, nothing comes close to the sound of their 2600 and their Odyssey is not far behind. And I'm not talking about them as emulations, I mean for their incredible sound and sound quality.I've got way too many better plugins in my arsenal these days to pursue Korg.
My first brand new synth was a Korg Mono/Poly, which I bought in 1982, and I have found their products to be superior to pretty much anything else ever since. To be fair, I don't have any of their computer music peripherals but I'd be surprised if they weren't the equal of their competitors.I've got better non-korg peripherals that have stood the test of time.

My first synth was a Korg Poly 6 I've had hardware versions of the original M1 and Wavestation. I currently own a Korg Krome.
Through most of the 80's and 90's I had become a convert to Roland because if the GK/GR technology But I always thought they sounded too compressed. The main reason for my switch was that I was always a far superior guitarist than a keyboard player. I still think that the highest quality workstation/arranger keyboard winner is the Korg PAx5 which is built from Kronos sound engines and then adds to them with "intelligent" arranger software
As for the previous software Yes I've tried to reach out. The M1 was my daily bread and butter sample based plugin for years. I could always find easily useable combi's and sensible single instrument (programs) to draw from.
Times have changed. My demands have changed for plugins. I'm no longer chasing the 80's/90's sounds. I still have plenty of those emulation synths on my computer.
Ten minutes of using Halion Verve engine will instantly cure you of any desire to use any single multi or combi piano that KLC has to offer. I have more than my fair share of 5,8 and 11 oscillator sample based piano's which brings out the character/color of piano recreations through the entire dynamic range of which I don't need a simple two o oscillator sampled piano which is the standard in KLC Triton and Mi as it was in the hardware varieties.
For midi stacks nektarine is an amazing chainer where I can mix and match across multiple plugins from different software titles.
I've recently had a yearning to explore cinematic orchestral arrangement. It's been challenging and fun. The realism of orchestral suites divisi alone cannot be matched in the KLC either in the sampled single instruments or in the multi/combi And then there is all the fun and practicality of
Don't even get me started with VPS Avenger2 or Synapse Audio Dune 3

It is suppose to stay in time with your DAW.
I tried the patch you used in your video and in my DAW (Cubendo) once key sync is on it sure stays in time and sync with position, with key sync off it plays at the right tempo but doesn't start at the first step of the arp (which is what I think you were describing in your video).. I don't think it was designed to do so... per manual..

Yep that is exactly correct. It's also how the Triton hardware workszvenx wrote: Sat Oct 12, 2024 2:01 pm It is suppose to stay in time with your DAW.

From the original hardware Triton manual
It works that way because back in the day when you would stripe MIDI time code to a track on your tape and then rewound the tape and recorded an overdub you would want the arp to play at the right part in the measurePress the “Key Sync.” check box in the LCD screen
to make this setting.
Checked: When you take your hand completely off
of the keyboard and then play the first note-on, the
arpeggio pattern will start from the beginning. This
setting is suitable when you want the arpeggio to
start from the beginning of the measure as you are
playing in realtime.
Unchecked: The arpeggio will always be synchro-
nized to the MIDI clock tempo.
The plugin works exactly like how the arps worked when the sequencer was running on the hardware Triton.
The Triton Hardware had hundreds of arpeggio patterns, you could use them to simulate all kinds of pickings and pluckings of stringed instruments, they are all essentially little snippets of MIDI so when you start to play on beat 3 of a measure that's where the arp starts

I use Cherry Audio's VM2500 modules a lot, and to my ears, it's like working with the ARP 2500 I used in college. Obviously, the tactile experience isn't the same, but it's worth checking out.Nug Wrangler wrote: Tue May 14, 2024 10:09 pmThanks. I remember there is a thread about the last one you mentioned. There are at least two of them in VST (Cherry Audio, G2500), and the latter is free; there is also the Behringer hardware 2500 line.Nug Wrangler wrote: Tue May 14, 2024 7:03 pm Why hasn't the Arp 2500 been emulated? its always the 2600. Just curious
I don't particularly recommend those VSTs (I have tried both), but they exist. I do plan to buy the Behringer modules ... eventually. Not super-high priority right now.
Also, I didn't see anyone point out: You won't see a Z1 emulation anytime soon. Search past KvR threads to find out the details, but: the source code is completely lost, it would require reverse-engineering. You're better off just using the Prophecy VST in poly mode. :\![]()

There's a half-price sale (on most softsynths; on some it's 33% off) at Korg until the end of the month (I think; check it for yourself if interested.)
