Tried two years ago and now again today.

STILL Suno can only produce very narrow types within every major genre. Extremely stereotypical. Funny, yes. Usable for anything else than commercials or meme content? No.
It's like asking someone who can't hear the difference between anything within a genre and think it sounds all the same to them. To the point that it's very embarrassing that it even tries without saying that it CAN'T achieve anything close to credible in what you prompt. Add to that that audio quality is painfully bad.

And still, everything it produces sounds like it has constant phase issues in and out. Just like two years ago...
Sounds like 96 kbps mp3 files that has been re-encoded three times with HP and LP filters removing all subs and tops.

About two million users in the target demographic, which is not really musicians. I can see why perpetually broke musicians who think rent to own for plugins is a good thing might believe that the subscription cost is a barrier, but I suspect that for most customers, it's closer to buying a pizza.

Suno is a small company compared to the text modeling industry. Their series D just raised $400M in June, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the big AI players whose latest rounds have been into the tens to many tens of billions. So, the technology is not going to grow as fast and those numbers are going to remain smaller because there's not really any enterprise use case for this kind of product. That's not to say that there aren't commercial use cases, but nobody is going to be ponying up for big annual contracts for their entire firm.

There are significant challenges to building what musicians want, and there's a question about whether they want that at all? Right, because, look at KVR? Why would anyone want to build an AI product for you lot? That's like trying to sell Christmas decorations to Scrooge.

So while all of the things that you complain about are both true, but also improving over time, what is going to motivate them is what their actual customers want. It's not you, it's your well off neighbor's kids who want to make memes for fun. It's people who were never going to open Ableton who's lives get a little better because they expressed some thoughts and it came out in a song.

It's not hard to understand the customers. You can go and listen to what people share. You can see how they share their thoughts and perspectives expressed in the lyrics. You don't have to respect their choice, but the limitations are yours if you can't see that they don't give a f**k about what you think. The same people who bought Casio keyboards and shitty DJ controllers are buying Suno.
