Never mind my prev post. I'm working on the Wavetable class, the anti-click code stoped working on the latest updates, now I have to check why. I should find soon. ;)

ok well had a little time late last nite... was going to make you the mp3's in SX

It is clearly what liqih mentioned... not a click per se but rather the lingering 'echo' with the fast attack settings... so when I adjust the attacks on chan A and B to a little slower it gets better..

anyway I was about to make the recording and was just hitting the C3 and F3 keys [synth-combo W Pad preset] when the sound just got stuck... you know... just started playing one ongoing sound and would not stop..had to quit out of SX to make it stop... so hell, I was too tired and went to sleep...

anyway... it IS the fast attack thing I'm talking about... just keep hitting say a 1/8 note repeating Root and third above chord in the above C3 range and as you do move the Root and Third up or down a few notes... and you'll hear the 'echos' of the beats start to 'mingle' into very ..ummmm shall we say, ugly.. sounds... so I sort of question being able to use this type of preset unless you ONLY play long, held, sounds and never any fast notes...

I must be missing something in the samples also, as some presets load with an 'init' as the sample and that really makes for bad noise... what did I do wrong?

I said, never mind! :D I found a glitch on the code. When I did the non-SSE code I messed up the Anti-Click code, that acts on Mono and Note-Steal. Since is a very higly complicated code, I'm taking longer to fix, but I will, don't worry. ;)

Good news!

I found the click problems Max, it was related to the Envelope and Wavetable classes. Is kinda hard to explain, but here is what I did wrong. When I was coding EVE, I found that the ADSR needed a instant-attack mode, when you set it to ZERO. So samples that have a special click on the start, like the B3 samples, would play that click. Since that is a desired click. But the click you hear is not that one. The problem is that I forgot the Anti-Click code counted with a very small and fast attack, and since I removed the attack of the ADSR envelope, it stoped working. ;)

Now I fixed the code, and now the bad-clicks won't happen anymore.

Also, I found the GUI Display update problem. It only happens when the sequencer is running, since Chainer has an internal-midi-clock that is allways runing, it happens more for that host. I will check how to fix so when the sequencer is running it doesn't happen anymore.

Latter I will post a new update.

Woohoo! It happens on mine when the sequencer is not running. Cool though!

I didn't mean that it only happens when the sequencer running, I mean that for me it only happens when the sequencer is running. ;)

Devon, could you tell me exactly what you do to have a partial updated display? That would help me a lot bud.

NEW BETA UPDATE 24

Guys, this should be the latest beta before tomorrows release. So please, could you take a final check on things?

- Fixed clicks that Max reported.
- Fixed GUI not updating. If you still get a GUI not updating, please, report exactly what you do in order to reproduce the error.
- 128 preset.
- All SoundSets has the Small-Icon and where updated.

Best Regards, WilliamK

kewl William great going! I'm falling over asleep but will get 24 now...

errrr something is very wrong with the full beta 24... it don't seem to find it's samples correctly after intalling.... I did uninstall the last beta before installing the full 24... something is fishy... so now I'm EVE less until you send up a fix I guess...

when I try to launch it, a dialog pops up before the don't distribute box... but it's too fast to see and is coverd by the Do not Dist. box... then when you clk ok... more errors come as it trys to load the default samp's.... same errors on any preset... can't find the samples it seems... and also no instruments show up in the channels ...

just some 'working too long and hard and fast' error I'm sure William... but...ahhhh you don't want to release this one... LOL

Ahh, my mistake. I compressed the Data folder wrongly. Just create "EVE Data" directory where EVE.dll is placed, and move the sample folders to it. I will also upload a new installer in 15 minutes, in case you don't figure things out. ;)

Beta 24 still crashes OPlat on exit :?

Yeah, about that, so far I tested in CubaseSX with 6 instances, with program changes in a song, loading and unloading like crazy. No problems. Also tested the same in Chainer, no problems. Looks like is an Orion memory problem. Since as soon as I delete the array and create a new one with the samples, orion messes the memory. But is totally Orion, sorry, nothing I can do for the moment. I checked my code more than 4 times allready, and is all good. Well, it works on other hosts without problems. Also, works in Orion until you try to close it. I tried to change presets like crazy and Orion didn't crash. So is good. Maybe they will find this bug and fix on theyre side. :P Otherwise they must tell me if there is a "magic" way Orion likes that the VST handles the memory. ;)

BTW: I also tested in Tracktion just now, with several instances, loading several presets (wich alocates memory for each SoundSet sample-data) and no problem on deleting (tested several times) instances and adding new ones. Also tested in Fruit-Loops, same thing, works without problems.
