I'm still seeing "processing" at the Inspired site for my order.
Has anyone found a page on the new site dealing with the status of our accounts?

Also, I haven't yet received a call or an order confirmation e-mail.
Has anyone actually received either?

It doesn't seem like anyone has been charged which means nothing has shipped.
Maybe today. Maybe not.
Yawn.....

I have seen a couple reports of actual Fedex tracking numbers. One on the YRG Facebook page. and one on the Yahoo MIDI guitar list. I bet its taking them far longer to track down customers current billing info, print shipper labels and get them on the Fedex truck. Here's wishing our luck improves soon!

These look kinda sweet, cheesy branding though.
Maybe I go with one when they start shipping, they aren't too expensive.
It's possible they will be successful in the marketplace, maybe it is what I am looking for.
Fingers crossed you guys have them within the week.
I'll check in to see what yous reckon after you have played it.
I was thinking maybe the Mesa digital, but I prefer the way the frets are normal 18ths on the yrg.

Agreed. On the basis of the limited information we have, his assessment is exactly the same as mine.tapper mike wrote:Maruuk gave a completely honest assessment. It's not the best instrument it could be. It's the only option we have at this price point.
My real concern is that gamers will not buy into it, as it is a lot more expensive than other game comtrollers, and the company will have to re-think its marketing strategy and price point.
Inspired seem to have got it into their heads that a gamer will first buy one and then be encouraged to learn to play it as an instrument. I simply can't see this happening in all but a few cases. I think that most people who want to learn to play a guitar will buy a guitar, not an expensive, jumped-up game controller.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but my take is the YRG will be rare and collectible among a cult following this time next year. This is based on 10 months of observations of the company behind it. The Targets/ Walmarts/Bestbuy store will demand a cheaper version. While the Guitar Centers will demand a more traditional shaped instrument. But ask any other MIDI guitar company what the market demand is for basic MIDI guitar. Getting Joe Average to wrap his brain around just what the YRG does vs other guitars will be a major hurdle. And in this economy, one is forced to skip purchasing toys and focus on purchasing real proven tools that meet your specific needs.
Our popular culture frowns on independent thinking, and last time I asked a group of kids what type of guitar they wanted, those that wanted to really play wanted nothing more than a Gibson SG so they could stand in front of a mirror and bang out power chords to their favorite AC/DC tunes.

I am not sure, first time i heard about this yourockguitar Was in a gamer forum
And now with This trend realistic games and rockband 3 being announced an option to play with guitar with strings
with speciel guitar mode. Powergig also
the yourockguitar Will sell pretty good, because
it also have cool features and midifunction
i guess it depends how much they are going to sell
their gamercontroller for (powergig,madcatz,gamebridge)
comparing to the yourock.

My Nephews are both professionals they take home 60K each and still live with thier parents even though they are very close to 30, They have plenty of free money and plenty of toys. They'll prolly buy a few to keep up with the jones. If you knew how many games and gamming accessories they have or have tried you'd think they are crazy.
It appears to me that they have already shifted price point subsidizing. Remember the SDK's they promised earlier. I wanted in on this. The promise was they would set up an app store where sound designers musicians and educators could sell add ons for the YRG. It would work much like the app store. This more then anything else is why I wanted in. Since then they have changed the model. Yes there will be an app store, No app developers can't get a hold of sdk"s Yes YRG will aftermarket sampled instruments, midi tracks, loops on the app store.
When they dangled the carror for app dev I thought great I can peddle material via III's home page. When they later retracted the possibility I was furious.
So they have the A/B/C strategy.
A - sell the instrument as we know for the markets we already know about.
B - Sell accessories separate (gig bag, headstock)
C - Sell aftermarket apps to keep the product and interest alive (loops sounds)
They have three streams of income on a single product. I can think of a few more streams of income for them off this singular product but I'm still a little sore to share that grand scheme.
They didn't just put a lot into it as a game comtroller. It's a pricey game controller. It's also a more accurate game controller.
Now, you know me. I've been on both sides of the YRG, I'm not completely happy with it. It doesn't satisfy all my needs and wants. But they have bent over backwards not to make it an ez-eg. They've done thier best to satisfy the guitarist masses with what appears to be a helluva midi guitar. That's because IMHO they want to grow into the midi guitar market. They couldn't do that if they just had a midi guitar. No matter how great it is they would be laughed out of both mom and pop and big brand music stores.
All they have to do is sell enough of these things to open the door into future production models.
This year it's the YRG
<speculation>
Rather then trying to create a product for the top of the market they are starting by expanding the base first. In a year or two they can advance work to develop one or several instruments with more features. They won't be as cheap as a YRG. They will be less expensive then a ztar. They possibly won't all be guitars. Other instruments, wi-fi stomp boxes etc
</speculation>

This has been my way of thinking and can be seen making identical statements on this forum also, however, here's one train of thought.Graeme Wrote:

They have filled all 500 preorders and then some, and on this forum I would say there have been about 15-20 of us posting about it. All the posts on the yahoo groups seem to be by the same 5 or 6 people and all interested in the MIDI aspect. So that accounts for about 25 of the 500 orders. Who has ordered the rest? Inspired are still plugging the whole gaming and inbuilt guitar abilities more than they are the MIDI. It's fair to say the folks behind it are fairly smart guys and I'm sure they have done the market research. Maybe they will sell bucket loads to the gamers who will later become converted and want the real deal and that can only be a good thing.
And maybe........ just maybe, my ar$e kissing statement above to Inspired Instruments might get me one shipped sooner
Anyway, speaking of shipping, I've emailed Sound Tech (the UK distributers) and had no reply, so I called DJKit (the retailer) and they have advised they are expecting their first batch around 23rd June. A couple of days to clear customs, a couple of days on the post, it's looking like the very end of June/start of July before I get my mitts on it.
