So we can route Geist 2 to our existing Geist 1 sample folders?exmatproton wrote:they work.BERFAB wrote:Don't know if this has been covered already, but will the expansion packs from Geist 1 work in Geist 2? Or will I, for example, have to, yet again, buy the "Best of Guru" pack to be able to use it in G2?

Well, i must say, apart from some minor (UI) things, it is running really smooth. Recalling is working, resizing as well. Editing is way better compared to the first version.Boardwalk wrote:What are the experiences so far? The buginess factor
I am particular in love with the mod system and the pattern editor. Great additions!

This is wonderful news. Money/budget is tight right now for me, but I think that I can scrape together the $$ to upgrade. I could use the distraction from my difficult work life...

Update: It is the desktop scaling that is not accommodated in Geist2. I updated Windows desktop scaling back to 100% and tried again and the GUI is now 1:1 with the mouse clicking actions.
But 100% is way too tiny for me. So would you pretty please, with sugar lumps on top, correct Geist2 to work at larger windows scaling modes?

Just purchased. Two comments:
1) Why are we still at the point where we have no choice about which version of the plugin to install? I hate having to install 32-bit versions of plugins to a dummy folder because an installer doesn't give me the choice to skip it.
2) Loading this into my DAW (Sonar, 64 bit, Windows 10), the first thing I noticed is that window resizing is very clunky. The screen blacks out while it's happening, and it's very jerky. I hope this is just an early teething problem because it's not really how I expect to see GUI windows resize in 2016. I kind of expected that everything would resize relatively smoothly and without glitches.

1) although i think you got a good point; just install it and delete the dll.sharke wrote:Just purchased. Two comments:

2) It is jerky for sure. However, when set, you don't need to change it anymore. It will remember your last setting (which i love btw). But yeah, there are some other plugins which do the resizing way better, e.g. valhalla

The rescaling will be smoothed in further updates I'm confident. fxpansion is pretty good at refining until they think they have it right. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet.

The Geist 2 may be a good product - unfortunately I will never (read: for a long time) know.
Why can´t the developer listen the most important single feedback: KISS (=Keep It Simple, Stupid)?
Too messy, to me - not intuitively enough.
Most of the GUI problems I reported of the Geist1 are still there.
If the most important GUI controls won´t open intuitively in the first 5 minutes, I rarely go on.
When I opened the demo in my laptop, it filled the whole screen. How to to adjust the screen - in the first 5 minutes I didn´t find that. This and several other irritating things - so far the conclusion is: I have so many first class plugins haven´t had enough time to spend time, why should I wrestle with one Geist2 which appears to be still a beta version to me. Sorry to say.

Seems nice , the CPU usage on a Geist 1 preset is at least 30% higher in Geist 2, odd.
