No, Repro-1 is monophonic. That's why there's Repro-5, to have a polyphonic version.

Post

repro-5 is NOT the same as a polyphonic Repro-1.

No it's not. It's extremely close. Some FX have been left out of the poly version and this has all been explained by Urs.

Point is, Repro-1 is the way it is for a reason. If you want a poly Repro-1, you're not getting it. The closest you're getting is Repro-5.

Repro-1 is not going to be changed because people want a polyphonic version. It isn't happening.

You're kidding right? Take away all the FX and it's practically the same synth. Urs himself will tell you that. Any differences are minute.

Use one instance per midi channel.....now you have a polyphonic Repro-1.
But i can say that it is not great to play that polyphonic. Too dominant, levels had to be taken down and JAWS kills your CPU and ears.
Repro-5 is the way to go here.
But i would like to have the sequencer in Repro-5 for sure.

Well, then I honestly don't know what you're hearing.

RePro-5 doesn't have the wavefolder, though. Which is great for mono leads, comps, basses, drones. I understand the feeling of being hobbled but you are missing out some perfect use cases. But if that's not your playing/production style then okay.

Don´t forget to have a look at the tweak page since they have different settings (OSC, Filter) there as default. And that can make a huge change.
Otherwise they have the same FX. Just JAWS is made for mono and Repro-5 distortion is polyphonic. And Repro-5 has that nice Velvet on top which is like Satin in a box.

Repro-1 has wider modulation ranges than Repro-5. Has some modulations that Repro-5 doesn't have. They don't sound EXACTLY the same because of those things, as a consequence Repro-1 can create wilder sounds than Repro-5.

Post

I think someone previously mentioned that the hardware Pro-One had different gain staging to the Prophet-5 and therefore had a punchier sound. Not sure whether that was translated in Repro models.

Post

That's true as well.

Post

That's however baked into the Osc and Filter models available on the tweak page.
