Is it just me or does the "use layers" button in the slice screen not do anything? It's just assigning slices to individual pads no matter whether I have this turned off or on. Unless I'm missing something.

It took me literally 1 minute to figure out the most important stuff. All the basic components are quite easy to grasp. Yes, lots of tabs, but LOADS of capabilities.Harry_HH wrote:The Geist 2 may be a good product - unfortunately I will never (read: for a long time) know.
Why can´t the developer listen the most important single feedback: KISS (=Keep It Simple, Stupid)?
Too messy, to me - not intuitively enough.
Most of the GUI problems I reported of the Geist1 are still there.
If the most important GUI controls won´t open intuitively in the first 5 minutes, I rarely go on.
When I opened the demo in my laptop, it filled the whole screen. How to to adjust the screen - in the first 5 minutes I didn´t find that. This and several other irritating things - so far the conclusion is: I have so many first class plugins haven´t had enough time to spend time, why should I wrestle with one Geist2 which appears to be still a beta version to me. Sorry to say.

Argh, the old delay bug still there. If you load the delay unit it starts off with a mono delay with no swing. Adjust the swing and the delays ping pong out to the sides, as expected. However if you move the swing back to 0, the delay does not collapse to mono in the way it started out. You have to delete the plugin and load it again. I really thought they'd have fixed that for Geist 2.

We figured that users would want to fill up their pads first. So if you slice a loop it will attempt to fill up the 64 pads first, and then move onto the layers if required.sharke wrote:Is it just me or does the "use layers" button in the slice screen not do anything? Standalone version causes application crash on startup. Plugin comes up blank in Ableton. Anyone else experiencing?

So is there a way to limit slicing operations to 16 pads? To be honest I don't think I'll be using more than 16 pads per engine because that workflow just doesn't work for me.Amberience wrote:We figured that users would want to fill up their pads first. Not currently but doesn't sound like a bad feature request!sharke wrote:So is there a way to limit slicing operations to 16 pads?
