It's a quite good sounding split-band compressor. I'm finding it particularly useful on the drum buss and, like most here, I already have a stack of compressors!paolostylo wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 3:27 pm bedroomproducersblog.com is advertising the compressor BBCMP from Babelson Audio...
It was offered for $149 and is now free.
I must confess: I never heard about this company before...
Any experiences with this plugin?
And yes, I know: it's free, but perhaps there are any users here that tried it already out...![]()
Check out their preamps as well. I'm really liking the flavour from the FD3N.

Okay, fair enough. Sometimes people make brief haves/wants-for-trade posts in this thread, but I agree that this might cross the line. Removed.dermage wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 1:28 amplease make your own thread for trades. If everyone would do it this thread would be useless
A well-behaved signature.

Someone should probably tell them that's not exactly a positive review.
Also, all the fake "1000 people are totally looking at this product right now!" banners make this entire thing feel like a scam. Hard pass.

Babelson have had other plugins reviewed by Sound on Sound, which for me is a vote of legitimacy.
https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/ba ... -fd-bundle
However, the need to disable Anti-Virus on PC and run the installer as administrator is a show stopper. Whilst having to give your iLok ID for a plug that reportedly doesn’t need it, is off putting.
So overall, I got them in the hope the dev will get better, but I haven't even downloaded them. The SoS is from August last year so they are still new.

They are easy enough issues to resolve properly, like most other devs (including me). Also, there are no responses to emails but this could just be a volume issue with the offer.https://babelson.com/faq/ wrote:I AM TRYING TO ACTIVATE IT BUT IT DOESN'T APPEAR INTO MY ILOK ACCOUNT
BB-CMP is free for all users, but you can only get it for free for a limited time. It does not require an iLok activation purposes.

I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I'm not a fan of the banner thing either, but they are not the only ones who do that (just got the Samples From Mars collection and same thing).oneshotdeal wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 9:06 amThis is right on the product page:ftech wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 12:43 amIt's a quite good sounding split-band compressor. As for the pre, I've used it to good effect on guitar, bass (303, synth and guitar) and a touch on drums and have been happy with the results.
Yes, it's a one trick pony, but I'm finding that trick useful right now. And it's not going to replace the Kush pre's I use any time soon.

50% off arturia FX at Plugin Boutique. Arturia had a ridiculous crossgrade deal for the FX collection but it didn't include Dimension D and such...so tempted at $50 but wondering if it isn't redundant with the H910 plugin I ended up buying...

Are you asking if having the H910 would make having the Dimension D redundant? I've not tried the Arturias Dimension D but I do have the Boss Dimension C/D and the H910. They are very different. H910 covers alot of ground including some nice chorus type effects..but the Dimension D is it's own thing.Fidelity wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:51 pm 50% off arturia FX at Plugin Boutique. I was hoping to talk myself out of spending $50...gee thanks.
Just kidding. Went ahead and purchased it - totally miss the UAD dimension D and this is the next best (if not better) thing, especially at $50. Appreciate the input
